Price Tags on Gifts

Amanda, on November 4, 2013 at 1:04 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

So I'm the type of person who pulls prices tags off gifts unless I am buying straight from a registry. I figure they registered for it so they know the price. Unless the tag or sticker is very easy to remove and the sticker won't leave residue I usually don't worry about the price tag. As I was unpacking gifts from my shower (now that we are married and moved into our new place I get to use all that nice stuff people bought us!) I noticed about half the gifts had tags removed or the price blacked out and the other half did not.

So I was just wondering....

What do you do? Do you remove price tags if you are buying from a registry or leave them on?

I always remove price tags on gifts. Yes, the couple is going to know the price is the item came from a registry, but for me it's just habit to remove a price tag.

I agree with Abby. I always remove them.

I've never gotten anything off of a registry though. The only wedding I have been to I just gave money.

I would usually remove the price sticker if possible, or black it out. I always leave the UPC code though, in case they want to return/exchange.

I also always remove the price tag or black it out. Tend to include the gift receipt also, just in case something happens and they end up with an extra or they decide it's not what they want.

Remove. Also, I wouldn't remember a price if someone got me something in the registry. Ballpark estimate, maybe, but not the price.

Remove but leave UPC on as well as a gift receipt. As a very big penny pincher who just did her registry I closed my eyes and scanned LOL. Don't want to think about prices on some of the stuff we registered for.

I remove the price but leave the UPC code on incase they need to return. I also include a gift receipt. But this is usually for a shower gift or something like that as I tend to give cash at the wedding.
