Sara , on June 2, 2011 at 3:31 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

Does anyone have experience with this? I'm trying to book a flight so I picked my destination, price ect and then they wanted my CC number. I didn't put one in because i'm wondering...do they ask me if I want their selection before charging or is it just bam the price is good and your charged booked and everything??

My co-worker uses them all the time. I just asked him and he says that you pick the day and the airport. They guarantee that there will be no more than 1 stop and that you will get there on the same day. He said that he just recently got a $400 ticket for $145. He swears by it.

Sara, if it's your honeymoon you are booking, maybe not such a good idea.

But...if it's general travel and you are flexible it should be fine.

Biggest items with online booking are:

    1. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being most important) the airline or hotel sees an online client as as a -1. So don't expect alot of service or help if there is a concern or if the hotel is overbooked....if you are booking 2 rooms say for you and a friend and the hotel is oversold on arrival, one room could be "walked" and the other remain at the original hotel.

    2. Typically what you purchase (expecially from Priceline) is going to be non-refundable and possiblly non changeable.

These items are not good or bad...it's just important that prior to purchase you understand what everything means...and make your decision based on really good information.

    Happy Honeymooning!

    Bonnie

I use them all the time but not for flights. the way it works is you choose and area you want to stay and the star rating of the hotel( i only use it for hotels) then you pick your price and pricline picks one out for you. you have no say so on what hotel or what kind of room you get. just the area rating price. im guessing flights is the same way

I used them last week to purchase my flight ticket to Texas. You pick your destination, the price you pay (I put $150), then they ask your for the rest of your information, your cc number and such, then after that it tells you what the price will be. Usually it's the price you pick plus about $48 in taxes. So my ticket ended up costing $198.80, but if you don't like the price you don't have to purchase it. If it's the price you want to pay it asks you at the end to book your flight.

The ONLY down side is you don't get to pick the flight times or what seat you sit in, but to me I'd rather be paying $198 then $298 for my plan ticket.

I use priceline for hotels all the time, but I am not sure I would use them for flights- I am worried about crazy lay overs, too many stops, etc. I just don't trust them enough to not be more hassle than the money saved.
