Prices for a Boudoir Session?

Jennifer, on November 18, 2013 at 7:32 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

I am just curious what the brides are paying for a boudoir session. I am talking to a photographer now and her price is $300. I just asked her what it covered and I am waiting on a response!

Thanks

I paid $99 for the session (originally $250...i used a groupon) but then I paid $550 for the album and disc. SO WORTH IT. I showed my mom (yes, my mom and I are very close), and she said she felt like she was looking at a model and it was surreal. I can't wait to see his face. i know it's pricey but seriously, i don't think i could ever get him a gift as good.

Hmm. have you checked Groupon in your area? There was one not too long ago for $75 bucks, do a search in your area and you might get lucky, the retail value ranges from $150-450 though so if you can't find a deal, that's the price you will be paying. Good luck!

I charge $250.00 for a session about 90 minutes long, including same amount of retouching time. Plus prints....boudoir album with approximately 2 dozen photos is an additional $225.00 . My style is different from more boutique studio traditional boudoir but can tone it down for clients wanting more tame. www.farrellgallery.com

Depending on what's included, it may pretty much equal out across the board. The main thing is feeling good about their work and comfortable working with them.

All depends on the photographer and the quality of the pictures. $300 is pretty reasonable in my opinion. I have a friend who does boudoir photography and she charges a little bit more than that.

I am still waiting on a response. I have saw wedding pictures, family pictures she has done, just not boudoir. I found a deal for about an hour away on groupon, so I am going to look at their pictures too.

Just like any other price question in the forum it really all depends on the vendors area, experience and availability

You can pay thousands for a boudoir session or get it free with your wedding package depending on a number of factors. Comparing a groupon special to someone who photographs for playboy doesn't mean ones overpriced or not it just means that they are two very different vendors.

If you want an average price then I would contact several vendors in your area who have a similar style and see what they come back with.

Not a fan of the Groupon or cheap idea. Not everyone who offers the service knows how to photograph the female body correctly, and pick flattering angles, encourage expressions, be proficient at lighting. It's one of those things, to bother doing it at all warrants hiring someone whose work you love. Good luck, it's a wonderful gift Smiley smile

I paid $850 BUT my photographer spent 5 hours with me in the studio, she was AMAZING and apparently is very sought after as her portfolio is breathtaking. I snatched her up because I fell in love with her shooting style and I was absolutely amazed with how beautiful she made me feel the day of the shoot and also in the finished product. I would spend way more on her again if I had to! Unfortunately some other more inexpensive boudoir photographers that I researched ended up shooting in a more "trashy" style---almost porno looking--YUK, definitely didn't want this. Be sure to thoroughly check through their boudoir style. Good luck and I think it's a great idea! FH LOVED his Smiley smile

The photographer that is charging me 300 is coming an hour to me and has a make up and hair team with her.

Jay- I understand that. I am just really trying to find someone I will be comfortable around as I am very self conscious of my body after having my son 10 months ago.

    Thanks! Smiley smile

Thanks so much! I just got off the phone with her and I am so excited. I saw two full shoots of hers and I LOVED them. She will be traveling an hour to me, with hair and make up, a bound album and how ever long it takes me to be comfortable with them for $300. I am SO EXCITED for this for my FH. I know he will love it! Smiley smile

I paid a total of about $475 at Glamour shots. I was there for about 4 hours, as it included airbrushed makeup, doing my hair, and 3 outfit changes. I got a CD with all the shots, and prints of 5 of them to frame. I was hesitant to go with them, afraid of them being tacky, but was very happy with the way they turned out - even if DH couldn't have cared less about them :-(

That's not bad Alisa. I have looked at a few of their full shots and am very pleased with her work.

I got a Groupon for Glamour Shots. I did not know what boudoir shoot was, so I thought it was just a regular photo shoot until I called to make the appointment. Haha! Mine is this Friday. Pricing is the same as Alisa. $100 for cd with all shots, and $75 per sheet. I paid $19 for the Groupon and it includes a free sheet.
