I picked an A-line dress... it's a very simple style, and often overlooked in todays Mermaid, trumpet, fit&flare world... but I think it's a classic shape that will never look dated in photos. And it's a slimming shape for plus-size curvy girls! After that the quality of fabric and style of embellishments just make it look more beautiful!

Princess! I did a swirl test for every dress, my skirt needs to move.

I don't have picture of my dress but I have a white A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. Very classic and won't looked dated in pictures.

Mine is a Princess. I did not like the mermaid style on me. The pics are of my dress before alterations and it will look different but the style will not change.

I've never heard of big dresses being tacky..def not my style but I think some of them are beautiful!

Mine is a natural waist A-line. I had originally wanted a mermaid/trumpet/fit and flare, but it just wasn't working for me

    Barbara i LOVE yours!!

Mine's a ballgown, I was worried about it being "too much" but I'm absolutely in love with it and can't wait to pick it up

Amazing guys I think all types of dresses look nice I am gonna go for a big poofy wedding dress with lots of sparkle. That is unless I can get my Alfred Angelo dress with the red on it

    Barbara I LOVE your dress!!!

I guess mine would be a fit and flare/mermaid? I loved how my dress hugged all my curves =) This is before alterations and that will not be my veil.

Mine is a fit-and-flare & I love it! I don't have a pic on my phone though Smiley sad

I'm not a fan of princessy ballgowns, but mostly because I'm short & they're not flattering on me - I don't want to look like a cupcake! Mermaid/trumpet style isn't my favorite either, it's a little too sexy, but that's just me.

I don't know what mine is. I call it a fit and flare, but does that make it a mermaid? I don't think so.

I wore a ballgown at my first wedding and I LOVED it. I would have gone for that style again, but it just didn't feel right this time. I'm older and it's not my first wedding so maybe that had something to do with it. Either way, so NOT tacky.

@KristnB - I had the same issue. I'm really tiny so I found a princess dress that was absolutely gorgeous, but I looked like I was about 12 years old... Ended up with a more simple fit and flare which I also love and since it shows off my curves I almost look like an adult lol. No pics yet Smiley sad
