Printing A2 envelopes

Anna, on March 2, 2011 at 8:14 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

Hi! does anyone have suggestions on how to print A2 envelopes? I'm trying to save time by printing addresses for my Save the Dates but not getting the result that I would like....the address is slanted and is too far left on the envelope!

Thanks Smiley smile

When you print envelopes, I presume you are using Microsoft Word. You would be selecting "Tools > Letters and mailings > Envelopes and labels. Then you would select options and select A2 if it were available. If not, choose "custom" and enter the size or close to it (in this case 4 3/8" X 5 3/4). Your envelopes should now print just fine.

You may need to change the way your printer auto selects to pull them in. Its on a tab behind where you pick your envelope size. I had to move the paper sliders and feed mine from the center of the printer after telling the program that was what I was doing. Also you can move the address box up down left or right if you highlight it on the screen and drag it. Hope that helps!

I used Microsoft Publisher. Changed the paper size. Made the screen to the exact physical fit: So when i put the envelope over the screen, I would tell where the printing was going to be done. Then I did some practice by cutting a blank sheet of paper the size of the envelope and printed it to see where it would come out. Took me about 30 min to do it all! If you don't have publisher, let me know what you're working with!

    Thanks!

I am using Word...and plugged in the appropriate measurements..and appear to be feeding the envelope properly. I have experimented with the address box (moved it up and to the left) to my satisfaction on the screen. HOWEVER, the address still came out slanted. Grrrr!

And our printer is an HP photosmart plus e-all-in-one....

Hmm, I just did all of mine on an HP OfficeJet Pro and they worked fine (well some bent corners) after I adjusted the feed tray. I would keep working on how they feed, as I found they need to be firmly held in place to not get pulled slanted.
