Printing envelopes at home

Melissa, on December 27, 2018 at 12:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13
Hi all! I am trying to print my wedding invitation envelopes at home. I downloaded a template from Etsy that I really want to use however my printer at home does not print on A7 envelopes. I tried calling Staples, Office Depot, no place will print on a7 envelopes. Any suggestions?

My save the dates were a nonstandard size and I was still able to print them. It took a test run or two but I just had to adjust where the text was on the word doc.

The only fight FH and I had while wedding planning was over printing these dang envelopes! He eventually took them to a paper company that does invitations to have them printed. It was around .50 each.

The template is from Templette not a word doc. And I can’t transfer the Fox and color onto a word doc

The template says to use with an A7 envelope. I think the issue is with my printer not printing that size envelope. So frustrating!

I’m sure you have, but have you searched on your printers website on how to do it? It took me quite a bit of research on how to print on our “odd” sized envelopes. I have a brother printer, and their website is very helpful for trouble shooting most problems.

Yes I called HP's 1800 number and the person I spoke to told me my printer is not compatible with printing A7 envelopes. I tried an older printer that I have at my house but there is no option for A7 or even custom size.

You can also get clear printable labels. I hand wrote all of mine. At the end of the day, people don't seem to really remember the envelopes.

If you print from word doc on A7, will it work? If so, download font to Microsoft word.

So in a last ditch effort to do them myself I downloaded the envelope as a PDF, then used the snipping tool to cut and paste it onto a Word doc. The word doc itself was an invitation envelope document to use with an A7 envelope. So far so good. But then when I went to print it my printer did not recognize the paper size! So I can either go buy a new printer that is compatible with A7 envelopes or just hire someone to print them for me. Someone quoted me $33.00. At this rate this is not worth the aggravation anymore!

Instead of using A7 envelope size, try changing the size of the paper to 5.25 x 7.25 inches. The printer will think you are using paper instead of envelope and should feed.
