Private Beach House Wedding

Danielle , on August 22, 2018 at 11:52 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

My FH and I would like to have a private beach house wedding. We've known since day one that we want to get married on the beach and after looking through many venues we fell in love with the idea of a private beach house wedding. We would want to stay at the house for a few days with our close friends and family and host both the ceremony and the reception on the property.

The only problem is we can't seem to find many options. So far we have found the Key Largo Lighthouse and the Key Largo Resort. They are both large homes that can be rented for several days and include a private beach and swimming pool which are must-haves for us. Both of these properties seem very promising but we would love to have some more options to look at.

We are open to any location with a beach. It also needs to be somewhere that is warm in late fall as we are having a November wedding. We're thinking somewhere like Florida, Hawaii, or California.

Does anyone have any homes that they recommend?

Thank you!

I don't have any suggestions on a specific house. You will need to make sure that the owners will allow an event to occur at the house. Many contracts prohibit events due to liability, damage, etc.

Don’t have recommendations except to tell you I live in California and it won’t be warm anywhere here in November on the coast.

I agree with this, it's pretty risky unless the ceremony is short & outside with blankets & heaters and the reception is indoors or heated. I grew up in San Diego, both my parents still live there. It was 80 degrees on Christmas Day in 2015, but that was insane and rare! It's usually closer to 60 at night in San Diego.

I also agree that November in California, especially along the coast, is going to be quite chilly and not conducive to an outdoor beach wedding.

Finding a place will depend on the number of guests you intend to have. Most of these homes limit the number of guests and restrict parties or have noise curfews. Plus, you'll need to rent everything needed: dishes, flatware, glasses, tables, chairs, etc.

Thank you guys! We just began looking as our wedding is still 2 years away so I was unaware that it was that cold in California in November. We’re from Buffalo so anything 70+ is good beach weather for us haha. But based on what you’re saying we will probably stick to Florida as the venues I listed above are pretty promising and Key Largo temperatures are in the 70s in November. They are beach houses that are strictly designed for weddings. They have several wedding packages that include everything we need. It just stinks that they are the only 2 beach houses we’ve found so far that include wedding packages because we’d love to have some more options to compare.
