Hi WW! It's been a minute since I've posted, but I'm back to give some post-wedding advice, and share some amazing photos our photographer captured of our big day!

H and I were married at The Vine in New Ulm, Texas in January 2018, and I'll tell you what? The overcast skies and mid-60 degree weather were perfect for us and for photos! It made everything a little more comfortable. Unfortunately for H, nothing could really make him entirely comfortable, since he sprained his ankle just two days before the wedding! Poor thing! But, he was a trooper and you never heard him complain, even though his ankle was black and blue and barely fit into his shoe (that rhymed). I caught him crying a few times, but I'll go ahead and hope that was because he was so happy.

Venue - The Vine in New Ulm

Photog - Ron Dillon Photography

HMUA - BP Artistry by Brandy Palacious

Florals - Lisa Cushing with Petals by Design

Entertainment - SignatureEventx

Bar & Catering - Cafe Natalie

Coordinator - Lindsay Lucas with Lean on Me Events

Dress - Oleg Cassini for David's Bridal (organza lace ballgown WITH POCKETS)

Want some advice?

1) Smile! No matter what kind of mood you're in or how stressed you may be, smile constantly. You're likely to improve your own mood, and frankly, get some awesome pictures of you living your life with a smile on your face throughout the day.

2) Share a private moment with each your mother and the MOG (if you're close). Have a little moment to say "thank you" or just a couple minutes of the two of you before or after the "I do's" is something I found very special and important that day. Also, I gave my mom a little something and wrote her a card, and tears were definitely shed. Totally worth it.

3) Have a last dance with your new spouse. I cannot recommend this enough! This was my FAVORITE moment of the night, even with H barely being able to hobble around. He insisted that he didn't sit in a chair for this dance, LOL. It's probably the only moment you'll get, just the two of you, for the entire night, and IMO, it was something to look forward to. We sang along to the music, laughed, and our photographer captured our favorite pictures from this simple request.

4) Don't be afraid to get dirty! Seriously, the bottom of my dress was a bit brown by the end of the night, as were my feet after I slipped off my shoes to dance. You're only going to wear this dress once, so take the crazy picture in the dirty field, jump around on the dirty cobblestone in the courtyard. It doesn't matter! You can always clean the thing!

5) Biggest piece of advice? Let it all go, dude. Whatever you don't want to have happen probably will, but you may never know. For instance, I didn't even know that the table numbers were incorrectly placed by the coordinator's assistant until after dinner. Was I mad? Sure! But did everyone know where to sit and was the dinner delicious? Sure was! At the end of the night, this ended up being the only thing that happened that I wasn't fond of, but whatever. I got married to the best man I could ask for, even when half his foot was falling off.
