One week ago, I married my best friend. I would say I was a "different" kind of bride in that I knew through it all that at the end of the day, I'd be married so I really worked hard not to let the details stress me out. I can't tell you the number of times I answered "that's fine...whatever works." or "I don't care, whatever is easiest for you". It almost got repetitive but truly the day for me was just about spending as much time as possible with the people I loved the most.

We had 80 guests confirm and had 75 guests in attendance. It was slightly annoying that people would RSVP and then just not show up, but that's on them and it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Our per person count wasn't as high as most, so in the end we only lost out on a few hundred dollars and in the grand scheme of things it just wasn't worth it to be upset.

I didn't have a wedding planner or DOC so I definitely spent a lot of energy on the details beforehand and I'm glad that I did because it was way less to worry about day of. I had timelines for FH and his groomsmen as well as for myself and my girls so no one had to find me and ask where they should be or what was going on. My DJ helped TREMENDOUSLY to get the timelines all figured out. Between him and the photographer, we were kept right on track. The ONLY thing I was a stickler about was time and the ceremony started at the time listed on the invite on the dot...so it was a win!

Things went wrong because things will go wrong. But I hardly remember what they were. I know we didn't leave enough space for the caterers so they had to move some things around including my cake. But they got it moved and moved back without incident. I know my friends who were singing for us couldn't get their song to jive with the DJs equipment so there was some lag in the music while they figured that out. But truly, all the things that mattered were perfect. We did our wedding on a budget. I was truly worried that you'd be able to tell and that it would come off as tacky or cheap looking. But I've heard nothing but good things and our guests could tell that I put tons of thought into every detail. We made sure there was good food, good drinks, good music, and a great photographer.

Here are a few of the sneak peek pictures from our photographer. I can't wait 4-6 weeks to see the rest!!

It's so funny because honestly, my wedding was budget friendly. We paid for it ourselves, our venue was completely DIY and we paid like $500 for it. I was SO worried that I was paying too much for a photographer and that nothing else would be "good enough" for her to capture.....but holy moly, paying good money for photography is so worth it!! She was absolutely magical and made everything look so dreamy. Smiley heart She absolutely captured the love, which is all we asked...but she captured so much more too.
