What is everyone using for these songs? Are you using songs with lyrics or just the music behind them?

We're doing a mix. The processional songs for the GM/Groom/BM's and parents will be instrumental but the song for when I walk down the aisle will have lyrics (A very close friend will be singing), these will all be plaid live.

Our Recessional song will also have lyrics but is when our DJ will come in.

The songs we have picked out so far are

Instrumental - First day of my Life by Bright Eyes

Brides Entrance - I Belong to You by Lauren O'Connell

Recessional - You make my dreams come true - Hall & Oates

FH is considering walking his mom in to Remember Me from Coco but an instrumental version (He is Mexican and the movie very much resonated with him)

We did instrumental only. Our processional was Hey Jude by The Mutato Muzika Orchesta (DH and his parents), Ice Dance by Danny Elfman (bridal party), and Concerning Hobbits by the Vitamin String Quartet (me and my dad). We did Once There Was a Hushpuppy from the Beasts of the Southern Wild soundtrack for the recessional.

BM's & Parents: Wildflowers by Tom Petty

    Bridal: Cannon in D

Recessional: Best day of my life - American Authors

All our songs had lyrics. For the processional, the parents and bridal party walked to Thomas Rhett “Die a Happy Man” and I walked to Keith Whitley “When You Say Nothing at All.” For the recessional, husband and I walked out to Ray Charles “I got a Woman.” All the songs we chose had special meanings to us. The only person who commented on the songs having lyrics was my grandmother, who was watching via live video, and it was just a casual comment to my mom later. Grandma hasn’t been to a wedding in years and just commented on not using the typical bridal songs anymore. Mom had to explain that it’s pretty common these days.

My husband and small wedding party walked to ABBA’ “Take A Chance On Me.” I walked to Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love.” Recessional was “For Once In My Life” by Stevie Wonder.

I really like the Allison Krause version a little better, but the Keith Whitley version made my husband tear up when we were selecting songs.

We're having a cello/violin duo, so everything will be instrumental. I initially wanted to go the classical route, but had the hardest time finding something that really spoke to me. I also had a really hard time coming up with a modern song for the bridesmaids to process to, but I'm finally happy with our choices.

Bridesmaid processional - Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Israel Kamakawiwoʻole version)

Bridal processional - The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel (I cried the first time I heard this song and knew it was the right song for this moment. FH is a big Peter Gabriel fan.)

Recessional - Dog Days are Over by Florence + the Machine (Our musicians are modifying the song a bit to skip to the more upbeat parts, rather than including the long intro. They'll play the full version during our cocktail hour too.)

All I know is that I'm walking down the aisle to the Back to the Future theme. The recessional is either going to be Careless Whisper by George Michael or The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News, (if FH will let me =) Still having trouble with what the bridal party walks down to, but we've discussed a few options.

    We used instrumental only.

Parents & bridal party processional- Can't Help Falling in Love by The O'Neill Brothers Group.

My processional- A Thousand Years by The Piano Guys ( I know it's totally overused/overplayed but I love the song)

Recessional- Here Comes the Sun by United Guitar Players (I believe)

The bridal party walked down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song cover by the Piano Guys. The recessional song was I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers.

I'm a big nerd so I had two different Phantom of the Opera songs for the processional and recessional! We had a harpist and she did an amazing job.

I am walking down to "Come What May", but the version from Glee. We both love this song, and are both HUGE Darren Criss fans. He has no idea. I told him its a surprise, which he is fine with. The wedding party is walking to "My Best Friend" by Queen, since they are all our best friends. Not sure yet if we are doing a recessional, since we are getting married in a park and the reception is right there. I still have a few months to decide that Smiley sexy
