Processional song with words

SnoBunnii9275, on January 3, 2018 at 3:09 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

Hello I am wanting a song with words playing while the bridal party and I walk down the aisle is this ok or will it be weird for people that it isn't instrumental ? I was thinking You're still the one by Shania Twain ?

And also have a recessional song with words play when we all exit Smiley smile

None of my songs were instrumental, most of them weren't slow either.

I am doing this too. I don't think it's common, but I really wanted to walk out to Can't Take My Eyes Off of You and I really love the words, so I didn't want it to be instrumental only. My FH wanted more instrumental. We are doing a mix (so if you are weird, than I guess I'm really weird). We're going to have instrumental music playing for the parents and the BM's, but I'm going to have words to my song (I figured it would differentiate me from the rest of the processional), and we are going to do a song with words for the recessional (Home). My thoughts are it might not be common, but it's what I want for my day and I don't think it's uncommon enough to be weird. Do what makes you happy.

Our WP and DH walked out to "Stand By Me" and our parents and grandparents were seated while "L-O-V-E" was playing. We recessed to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours." I don't think songs with words are weird for ceremonies at all.

I really want Christina Perri "A Thousand Years" but my fiance informed me it's from Twilight. I've never seen the movies. I've loved the long since I first heard it but i really don't want people thinking that's why I picked it. I'm sure it's silly but it bothers me.

But I love the idea of hearing the words when they are something that have meaning to you. I'm huge on lyrics and I think if your guests are listening they will feel what you're feeling.
