Processional Songs...Do these "Match"

Amie, on April 27, 2015 at 5:29 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

Okay...

So in the beginning, I wanted only 1 song (A Thousand Years - Piano Guys version) but now...I have heard the Flightless Bird, American Mouth instrumental and fell in love.

My FH likes it too (although he did say I was lucky he loved me so much to choose not 1 but TWO Twilight songs...)

Here they are...What do you think? too different? I know the Flightless Bird song sounds a little more "masculine" with the deeper tones, compared to the other song...

Personally, I like the flightless bird song better. Do you plan to have one for wedding party and another for yourself? I think they go together well enough if you're using the contrast to indicate a transition.

I am not familiar with those songs however our processional (DH, moms, BMs and GMs and FG&RB) we did "nothing else matters" by metallica violin version and my song was "when i say i do" by matthew west. They were not machin at all but we loved them bth and they did flow nicely!

I don't think it has to match, I love A Thousand Years but I have heard it at a few weddings now so it wouldn't be my first choice!

I actually love both the songs (and am using A Thousand Years for my entrance), but the Flightless Bird, American Mouth is not really a love song...so I think it's better for the BP coming in. I love it instrumental, and I doubt most people actually know the song, just the tune would be familiar.

I'm not familiar with the new song, but I can say that we chose one very indie/alt song for the bridal party processional (Ben Folds - The Luckiest), and then a very country song for my processional (Willie Nelson - Let It Be Me). We had a long walk, however, so we had plenty of time for good chunks of each song to play, rather than having to break the songs up and having to worry too much about how they flowed together
