Program fan people, what type of glue did you use?

Mandi, on June 22, 2017 at 5:18 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

We are having a wedding "crafting party" this weekend and I am torn on what glue to use for 110 lb card stock. My card making friend said glue sticks would be fine, but other sites say NO glue sticks. I want something that will hold firmly in 90 degree heat...

Are you just gluing papers together or are you going to be gluing paper to wood?

If it's just gluing together paper, good ol' school glue works and it's not going to melt.

I like to use tombow adhesives for card making: they aren't the cheapest but they are neat and you don't have wait for them to dry:

So I used a couple different adhesives until I found what worked for me. I used a permanent adhesive tape (got it and the dispenser from Michael's) on the fan handle part. I then used glue sticks on the rest since it seemed to not run out as fast and I felt it held better. I'm a teacher and so I had a million glue sticks laying around and they seemed to work really nicely for the paper parts.

ETA - I used the Tombow adhesive Rachel gave the link to.

I used hot glue on our sticks. It held up nicely! And yes our wedding was hot. It was about 84 degrees. (We had a beach wedding in march!).

Have you tried double sided sticky tape? It may hold

Im doing these too and my friend advised me to use a glue gun because that was the only thing that worked for her wedding.

We used hot glue on my sisters last year and they worked fine and it was over 90 degrees that day.

I would say hot glue. Won't have to worry about dry time and it'll definitely work for paper and sticks.

You are very obviously not from Texas! I'm having my wedding this weekend and I'm thrilled that it's ONLY going to be 90 degrees. 90 is normal. 70 is cool. 60 is FREEZING. 80 is perfect. 90 is a bit warm. 100 is hot. 110 is when we try to stay inside as much as possible. Anything over that, you just pray that your AC can keep up (but it probably can't.)
