Proper hosting for out of town guests

futurelagrange, on September 20, 2016 at 3:02 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Most of our guests are local, aside from 1 family member on my side, and 4 on his side. (Although no idea if they will come) We are having a friday wedding, and I'll be working up until the day before the wedding, and FH will be working most likely until the wedding. What is the proper way to host guests from out of town? They will most likely be staying with family so hotel block isnt an issue. I know we won't have a ton of time before the wedding, and are leaving for our honeymoon the day after.

Nothing is required by etiquette. As long as you're hosting the wedding well, you're good. Some people choose to have a welcome dinner but it seems like you'll be too busy for that. You could also host an after wedding brunch the next day if there's time.

You could give them welcome bags or a list suggestions of local activities and favorite food places on your wedding website!
