I would wait to ask your wedding party until around 8-12 months before your wedding! Relationships can and do sometimes change, and once you ask someone to be in your wedding, you can't really change your mind later without potentially damaging the friendship. So it's usually best to wait until time gets a little closer before officially choosing your wedding party.

I asked mine at about 12 months before the wedding. While some people would say to wait because relationships change, my bridesmaids are my sister, three future sisters-in-law, and my best friend since we were 12 so I wasn't concerned about that.

Similar to Caitlin, I have 3 cousins, my brother and my BFF of 20 years so I’m not worried about anything changing either. Plus, all of them would be the ones to help us plan everything anyway. I do plan on asking my future sis in law, but will wait awhile to ask her. She’s a single mama to 4 kids and works full-time so I just don’t want to overwhelm her.

I'm a Dec of 2022 bride and I still haven't asked anyone. I glad I didn't though, My relationship change with 2 cousins and 1 friend in a bad direction and my relationship with 1 friend and a cousin grew (now my cousin who I gotten closer with is now pregnant). Since my date is close to Christmas time I think I need to ask by at least April or May. I do want to ask them before I give out a proposal box just in case they can't, I'd hate to feel bad by wanting the box back if the can't accept.

I asked my maid of of honor 6 months prior.
We are not having other attendants, only MOH and BM.
