Uh, non-traditional I guess. It was midnight, we were watching a movie. Suddenly, he jumped up and shoved the coffee table out of the way. He got on both knees. Afterward, he said he was afraid he'd fall over if he were on one knee Smiley heart.

He didn't get down on one knee, but I didn't blame him because we were standing on an overlook covered in snow with a wind chill of about -20 F, but it was perfect.

Half and half. He took my mom out to lunch to ask for her permission (my dad is passed and probably wouldn't have been in the picture anyway) but we were going shopping and he pulled out the ring when we got back in the car. I was putting on my seatbelt and there it was.

Traditional. He got down on one knee at the finish line of my 1/2 marathon in March. Smiley smile and he asked my Mom's permission first. That's my favorite part.

Modern. I am far too lazy to get down on one knee. He sorta jokingly did it when we got the ring in, but since I proposed there was never a traditional kind of moment.

Tradition. He got down on one knee and my parents and grandparents permission. He proposed in front of a tourist attraction in Austin that says “I love you so much”.

Traditional. He was down on one knee in our bedroom. I knew it was coming as he took me to pick out my ring, went to go buy it together, and when I told him when I was really ready and he picked it up the next day. But yet I was still caught off guard when it happened! We were getting ready for Vday dinner and I swore he was going to do it at dinner.

It was sort of modern and sort of traditional. It was 1am and we were just laying in bed talking and we had been talking about getting married for a few weeks(he would randomly ask me if I would marry him, and I would be surprised and then he would say "I'm just kidding. It's too early to get a married ") so he randomly gets off the bed and puts on a song that he sang to me on one of our first dates and he's on the floor next to the bed kneeling and he's holding my hands and when the song ended he goes "Will you marry me?" (Its important to note the last time he asked me I told him if he asked me without a ring as a joke again I would say no because I was starting to get annoyed with the joke) I looked at him and was about to say no when he reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring. No box or anything. Just a ring.
