Proposal: Modern or Traditional?

He got down on one knee on stage of my favorite band. Not very traditional, haha

We had a couples photo shoot. While we were taking pictures under a bridge my future sister in law (the photographer) told me to close my eyes for a “tickle photo.” After the first of these pictures she said we’ll do it again, but when I open my eyes Joshua was down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

I was technically the one to propose and it was in the car, on no sleep, right after we'd gotten our lost dog back after the worst week of our lives.

I am making him propose 'for real' though now that we finally have the ring! Yes, we finally landed on a ring nearly a full year after booking our venue and just four months before our wedding. Our wedding photographer is doing our engagement shoot, so we decided to do a proposal shoot! I told my guy not to get down on one knee. He has creaky knees.

I'm getting proposed to this Friday!

At my express wishes, he did NOT ask my dad for permission. Though, my dad, being the joker that he is, tried to play it off that the he was mad that my FH didn't ask. He couldn't stop cracking up though, which sort of ruined the effect.

Traditional, and so glad it was! Wanted to hear my whole name and he couldn’t get his words out, so at dinner he said it.

Modern, I asked him

Non-traditional. He knows I'm not a fan of proposals or engagement rings. So we just had a conversation and picked a date.

Non-traditional out the wazoo haha. I feel like we never had a super official proposal, but we are engaged and everyone knows it haha. FH jokingly last night asked me again when we were watching TV, so I feel like this will continue for minute hahaha!!

Funny thing is, he was going to get down on one knee, but my panicked reaction just grabbed him by the elbows and picked him up.

Nontraditional in a way- we are currently privately engaged and planning our wedding but he has an “official” proposal planned before our engagement goes public!

I didn't get my cute proposal. We just talked about it, he said that if I wanted to move forward, I had to talk to his dad, I did, and then we were engaged. It's disappointing, but it is what it is.
