I got proposed to at a golf course, since we love golfing together. We were on the green getting ready to putt and my FH got down on one knee as if he was just placing something under my ball to mark the location but instead he replaced my ball with a ring box! I was extremely caught off guard, we had been together for a little over 7 years but we started dating very young. I had no idea he was planning it, and figured he would've waited until after his brother's wedding was over, which is why I was even more surprised! One of the best days of my life, I wish I could relive it!

My FH and I live in Memphis, TN, and my family lives in Atlanta, GA. I am super close with them, my sisters are 16 and 7 so we visit often! My FH has twin 13 year old daughters that I have a great relationship with as well. We went to Atlanta and brought his girls over thanksgiving last year. It was an amazing trip and we had tons of fun! We had been talking about marriage but I didn't think he'd propose quite yet. We actually went to the mall of GA while we were there and went into Zales "just for fun" and he showed me this ring that I absolutely loved! So, of course, I started thinking oooh yay! But thought it'd be back at home or something. The last day we were there we all hiked up to the top of this mountain that I love, and when we got to the top and were looking over GA I turned around and FH was on one knee! It was perfect, surrounded by those we love, and I wouldn't change a thing!

I knew beforehand that it was going to happen soon and possibly that weekend. however i was shocked when it happened at home rather than where i thought it would be - it caught me off guard.

he said he got us tickets to this nice garden on sunday. so i sort of thought that's when it'd be because that seems like a typical place to propose and it felt random that he would just get us these tickets.

so friday night we are at home and i go take a shower and he tells me to go take a nice long shower. i mean i don't think anything of it. so i come out of the shower and start painting my toes and then he tells me to come look out our bedroom window. i kind of say uh.. can it wait? i mean i'm in the middle of something here... but he just keeps rushing me and at this point he's getting kind of impatient. "come on please, will you just come for a second and look, come on"

so i give in and i go look and i see he has in the yard candles lit to form "i love you, marry me?" and i just start crying and he's down on his knee and i say ... "yes, but i wish you would have proposed to me when i had pants on"

i didn't have pants on! i came out of the shower and was half dressed not expecting us to do anything else for the rest of the night. or for it to be an uneventful night.

he gets a good laugh out of my response and hands me a pair of my pants to put on.

on the bright side, it's a memorable moment. and people usually laugh at it when i retell it.

we also ended up going to the sunday garden to take some engagement photos.

FH was working with my best friend to plan it. Her now husband is in the military so whenever he came home they would do couples photos with one of our photographer friends. She invited us to come along. We went to the beautiful nature park with a waterfall and were walking the loop. Towards the end of the loop the photographer asked me and her to go ahead so that she could take pictures of us. During those pictures, my bestfriend told me to turn around and there was FH one one knee. It was beautiful.

I got proposed to in the comfort of our new home (one year anniversary of purchasing our first home together) the fire was going (It was October gets cold here) he made us a home cooked meal (Italian) and had wine set up and water for the kiddos. I knew it was coming at some point. However, that day I didn't. He had parked his truck in the back so when I got home I didn't expect anything. The kiddos were in on it too Smiley smile It was perfect for us and I couldn't have been more happy.

I was completely shocked, which is so silly. We went to Hotel Del in Coronado (San Diego) on Christmas Eve with my mom & stepdad, and best friend & her family, to go ice skating on the beach. We do things like that a lot so it didn't even make me think, I'd always wanted to take my fiance there anyway. My mom was pressuring me to curl my hair, but she literally does that all the time so again, nothing was given away! We got called to do "private skating" out of a jar, and they pronounced my name wrong so obviously I wasn't even thinking about it. Then he got down on 1 knee after we skated for a little and I was SHOCKED. Looking back now, it was literally so obvious but I was so oblivious!

My fiancé and I had been together for almost 6 years and i had this gut feeling he was going to propose at Christmas (like I KNEW, I had no basis for this but I thought that was what was happening) so I was completely off guard. It was Halloween and I worked all day 6-4 and afterwards my best friend and I got Halloween flash tattoos. Both of our fiancé’s (also best friends) showed up to the tattoo shop late and they said they had car trouble so whatever. We get done with the tattoos and the guys start saying they’re starving (also not shocking) so my fiancé says “let’s go get Italian” which is 30 minutes away. it’s 9pm on a Wednesday and I work at 5am the next day needless to say I didn’t really want to go. But I didn’t want to kill the mood so we go. It’s just about closed but we go in and pick a romantic booth-awkward since it was a double date but again whatever. I told my friends that the lighting was great so we pull out our phones for pictures, my fiancé asks them to take ours (some how I played right into the moment!) and he starts getting red and mushy talking about love and the future while I have a breadstick shoved in my mouth. He asks me right there in the booth and I was in so much shock, I ate another breadstick. I have the whole thing on video and I cherish the moment ❤️

My FH proposed at home on a Friday. We were planning on going to visit some of my friends the next day and staying away from home the next night. I knew it was coming because I helped him pick out my e-ring and wedding band. So he got home from work first and was making my favorite meal that he does, which is chicken fajitas. I also should of known something was up btw his phone kept going off, because one of his buddies wanted to know if FH had proposed lol. So we finished eating dinner and cleaning up. We were literally just watching TV and some random show on Reelz. Next thing I know he is down on one knee proposing, I really thought it was going to happen on Saturday lol! So that weekend we got to spend it away celebrating. It was perfect, I loved that it was at home just the 2 of us!

FH has been planning to propose but wasn’t sure when he was going to do it. He talked to one of my really good friends and thankfully she persuaded him not to do it on my birthday. She found a dragon lights festival only an hour away from our town and we all went out to a really nice dinner. It was freezing that night and I tried to convince him to stay home so we could go to my brothers super smash bros tournament. He was very adamant about us going 😂. So we went and walked around and got a couple of really good pictures. Finally we were coming to the end of the outside exhibit and he started telling me how much he loved me. He got down on one knee and started crying and all he could say was “I love you”. We are both super goofy and playful so I thought he was joking at first because we had talked about getting engaged but not until wayyyyyy farther down the line. He proposed with a ring that had our birthstones in it, and we picked out my ring together the next night. He had given me a promise ring two Christmas’s before and I was trying to talk him into getting me a new one. I definitely like my new ring instead of another promise ring. Definitely surprised and still shocked, we are both still in college and we are paying for our wedding totally on our own but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Can’t wait for next September!!

We had talked about marriage plenty before, so I knew he would propose eventually, however he kept me guessing on if he would on a specific day or not!

So we are both pretty nerdy, and enjoy playing the pokemon go game on our phones. When I told him when I had taken my summer vacation week, he asked if I wanted to play "on wednesday that week at the botanical gardens" --We NEVER make plans to play, we usually just go "hey you wanna play pokemon today? where should we go?"--

So I was certain (after thinking about how odd that was) that he would be using it as an excuse to go somewhere beautiful to propose. Well, then, after a few weeks, he asked me if I really wanted to play, and the way he said it made me stop entirely and just think... ok there's no way he's actually going to propose, he wouldn't just toss his whole plan.... (not realizing he knew I wouldn't turn down the plan anyway, the sneak)

So from that point, I used both trains of thought to convince myself he was or wasn't proposing that day. Finally the week came, and I was still not 100% sure what I thought, until he mentioned he "felt like looking nice" and therefore was going to wear his nice shoes and a ~new~ button down............... I was so suspicious but still had that doubt for whatever dumb reason

We got to the gardens, and he tells me he wants to go over to the one gazebo that was special to him and his grandma. I thought "this is it! its really happening!"
It didn't. There were too many kids right there at the moment, so we kept walking and playing. We got through the whole rest of the gardens, and my heart was sank. I had been sure this was it but didn't seem to be.

That was, until we circled back around to that gazebo again.

And of course, he waited... and waited... and waited...

Before finally saying "Screw it, I'm just gonna do it" and got down on one knee

Lol I still feel bad he barely got the question out and I was practically throwing my hand at him to put the ring on 😂😂😂

Apparently he had been waiting for a friend he had asked to show up to take pictures, but the friend never showed and didn't bother to tell him that he wouldn't make it. The friend was supposed to look like a photog just taking pictures of the gardens by the gazebo, as my fiance wanted to have pictures of our proposal, knowing how special they would have been to me. 😂 I have to admit though I'm glad the friend didn't show, those pictures would have looked not nearly as graceful as I would have wanted, I probably would have just made fun of my own face cause I'm sure I looked all sorts of silly, like I said, practically throwing my hand at him.

My FH invited me on a cruise with him and his parents. It was Captain's night the 2nd night in so we were all dressed and went to dinner. After we all went up to the top deck to take photos...or so I thought. His parents went first and it was freezing so I was ready to go lol. He told me it was our turn and he secretly had his dad recording. I'm still shivering and he asks "are you really that cold" in which I replied "yes!" He looked at me and said "maybe this will warm you up" as he got down on one knee and proposed.

He was right. It definitely warmed me up. I completely forgot about the cold. I kinda had an idea but not really cause it was one of those things where he kept telling me that he has something for me and he threw me off when he surprised me with my own PS4 controller (yes, I was actually happy for that too lol) so I let it go. Its's green which is my favorite color and we had previously talked about eventually getting me one so I got two surprises!

My husband proposed on NYE at Magic Kingdom inside Cinderella Castle. And I knew exactly when he was going to do it. But he didn’t know I knew.
We were talking about what we wanted for Christmas and he told me he was going to get me something I really wanted and was really expensive.
Well, our washing machine was on its way out. He can’t keep a secret and finally told me he was getting me a new washing machine. I had already convinced myself he was getting me a ring, so I was upset. Like didn’t talk to him for 2 days, we lived together. So he had to tell me it’s not a washing machine, lol. So that’s when I asked to go to Disney for New Years as my gift, we were already going but we’re leaving on the 3rd of Jan. He agrees quickly.
Little did I know I gave him his plan. The next day he told me he spent hours on the phone with Disney and got us a breakfast reservation inside the castle the morning of the 31, but it was for 4. I WAS NOT allowed to invite anyone else. In case you didn’t know to eat in the castle is EXPENSIVE and you have to prepay and he paid for 2 extra people. This also made me think it was coming.
After that we kept a look out for dinner reservations, which I finally found and made. I knew when he talked to my parents (he’s not a good liar) and bought the ring. He kept insisting he HAD to give me my present at Disney even though he could give it to me before (did I mention he can’t keep a secret).
he carried the backpack all day, wouldn’t even let me touch it. Surprisingly he made it to dinner. I thought he wasn’t going to make it last Main Street when we walked in. He stressed during dinner cause he didn’t know where he was going to do it and kept insisting we take a picture, he hates pictures. He even mentioned as we walked in how we weren’t getting married for a while. Even though I knew it was coming I was still nervous and all I could do was laugh when he asked. I shook my head yes, so he had to ask again so I’d say yes, lol. Then I blurted our, I knew you were going to ask! He made sure the photopass people took pictures and video.
    It was perfect!

We were engaged at Disney world.

My FH chose a park that not many people propose in at Disney world (Hollywood studios) and because of that the entire park knew we were getting engaged that night! Word gets around I guess Lol. They were so excited for us and the opportunity to make it magical. He planned with the park (I was shopping, he “had to go to the bathroom”) for us to get engaged during the Hollywood studios pre firework show Disney movie magic. We had gone to a dessert party and they chose us to lead everyone to the veiwing area so we would have a prime location with few people....this should have been a major hint lol He watched it before we went and chose the perfect time to propose during my two favorite movie scenes of the pre fireworks show. (Beauty and the beast and Mary poppins) The park went all out for us! They let him have a personal photo pass photographer to capture the dark photos (reflecting back I had wondered why this guy was following us but again I was oblivious...so oblivious that I moved us from the viewing section they had arranged for us. People kept telling us we had to sit down but he kept insisting we had permission to stay standing. The photopass guy had to move super quick to catch us in time to snap the photos) gave us extra fast passes for our trip and we were given gifts from the cast members themselves. I love that he arranged and convinced them to borrow a photographer! As were were walking out we kept getting congratulations from all the cast memebers who had seen the photos. It was magical.

I don’t think hearing (or tellling!) these stories gets old 😍. I am a Christmas fanatic and we were hosting an early Christmas dinner for his fam as they live out of town. After we went to look at Christmas lights and I got a text from my Dad asking us to go look at his because he did something special. When we got there there were literally NO lights out front and I was so confused! So then we walk into the back yard and its like a little winter wonderland. DH was asking me to go out further in the yard which I didn’t want to do because I was in heels but I did. Then my nephew was there and I asked him what he was doing there right about the time DH flipped a switch. My Dad had to physically turn my head and then I saw it. There were Christmas lights on the fence that said Will You Marry Me? I screamed at the top of my lungs and literally ripped the ring out of his hand (oops!) and when I turned around my entire family was there. We had been talking about getting engaged forever but he had me convinced it wasn’t happening for like six more months. It was the most amazing, perfect moment and I’m so blessed that he gave me my dream proposal.

We drove from Wisconsin to Nashville one weekend to celebrate my birthday weekend. On our last night we walked around town, and went up on the pedestrian bridge over looking the city.
We probably stood there for about 10 minutes, he saying he was waiting for someone to take out photo. Finally a guy walkes buy, my fh told me to go stand by the railing so they could line up the photo. My fh kept point at the camera and i could see them talking. I kept thinking omg does this guy not know how to use a camera??
My fh finally comes by me, we take a photo, he says move over a bit so we can get that building in the backround...by the time i turned around he was down on his knee and asked me to marry him! We were so excited, as we were walking away someone was yelling after us. We turnes around and a guy came running with my fh wallet and phone. Apprently he set them on the ground while we took the photo!
Over all it was an amazing trip, amazing birthday and an amazing stort

I got proposed to on November 29th 2016, there wasn't anything special about the day or anything but apparently he wasn't planning on proposing that day. He brought pizza home for dinner since i was in class all day, i was finishing up my history degree. He came in the door and sat everything down like he typically did (keys, wallet, etc...) And got me some pizza. He sat all his stuff down on the entertainment center and got all frantic that he had lost something because it was no longer in his pocket and then he noticed he had also sat the ring box on the entertainment center lol. He leapt toward the entertainment center knocking into the flat screen and i couldn't not notice so i asked him what that was all about. After trying to change the subject and it not working he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes but i wasnt putting the ring on until i wasnt covered in pizza sauce lol. It is now a tradition that we get pizza every November 29th.
I love my impromptu proposal and wouldnt change a thing about it. It happened how it was supposed to.

My FH and I were on vacation in Jamaica. We were getting down to our last few days there, so we asked my cousin and her boyfriend to come and have dinner with us before we left. After dinner the server comes over with a dessert plate that says “Will you marry me?” I look over to my FH and he was down on one knee! I was completely surprised! Apparently he had the ring for months and when we decided to take this trip he knew it would be perfect to do it in my home country! And it couldn’t have been any more thoughtful and perfect!

    Hey there!
    Thank you for the topic!
My bf at the time suggested that we go to the mountains for Valentine's weekend.

We never go out of town...so all of my friends are like ... you are going to get a 💍. I thought, No way! We talked about marriage, but our two year anniversary had come and gone(Nov) and he made some smart comments about all of the jewelry commercials prior to our trip, so I put that thought away. I figured the get away was my gift.

We went walking around the cute little town where our B&B was...he said we need to come back here, it will be a good memory. I thought nothing of it.

So, as I was getting ready for dinner I'm trying to look my best and I'm so extremely nervous... For no reason at all.

We go to dinner and we have to wait on our table. For some reason, he kept straightening the leg of his jeans.
Meanwhile, im all jittery thinking I'm losing my mind because I can't sit still and felt like I was going to jump out of my skin!

We get to our table. All was normal as we ate. We went for a short walk....then back to the room.

Just as I'm telling myself how crazy I am to be nervous... He turns on the fireplace....grabs me and said" Babe, you know I love you right?" I say yes...he says" will you always be mine, forever?"

I said "what does that mean?" I kept repeating..."what does that mean?"He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box...then he proposed!

I laughed, I cried, I even hit him on the arm 🤷...
Turns out my ring was in his boot...he kept straightening his pants leg, because he was afraid I'd see the boxSmiley smile

And all those comments about the "suckers" getting rings and getting engaged at holidays? He had my ring for six months.

Was planning on my birthday(Oct) got nervous let our anniversary(Nov) and Christmas go by( I got a horse trailer) and finally settled on Valentine's❤
    Congratulations to everyone!

My dream proposal was on top of a mountain, 3 yrs after we had been in the same spot on our first date. We had a big struggle on our first date and we hadn't prepared for the weather. He got me to the same spot with some pushing, and got down on one knee in the rocks and asked me to marry him. I had no idea it was happening, I thought he had hurt himself. I got a custom ring box made in our own wood shop, and the perfect ring that he designed by himself. It was the perfect day and he some how set up a camera and caught the entire thing without me knowing. He's a man that thinks of everything!!

My fiance and I drove up to Niagara Falls with for my birthday. His sister and brother in law joined us as well for the long weekend late October. When we got there and settled in, my now fiance and his brother in law said they were going to go out and scout nearby areas for possible restaurants. What I didnt know was that they were actually scouting out the perfect location for the proposal Smiley smile they came back about 15 minutes later and said they found a place. Hard rock cafe...which we did end up eating at after Smiley smile. My fiance and I left the hotel a few minutes before his sister and brother in law. He said they were just getting ready and would meet us there. As we were walking to the restaurant for dinner, he kept steering me towards the falls and away from the restaurants. I was confused but went along with it assuming he just wanted to see the falls. Well, he brought me in front of Niagara Falls and turned around to look at me. Told me that he had a feeling it was going to be a very special weekend for us. That's when he got down on one knee Smiley smile I later learned that his sister and brother in law were trailing behind us trying to catch it on video....they failed lol all it was was jumping and cars passing by...oh well! It was night time so there was no one walking around which was perfect. My favorite part (other than being engaged) was the fact that we went to Niagara falls... and my fiance had no idea that the waterfall he proposed in front of was Niagara falls... he just thought that was a small waterfall and Niagara Falls was further down the river hahahah
