Finally, after waiting for the custom ring to come in (13. Weeks.), my fiancé was able to propose! We went to our favorite park that we frequent often and it’s also where we had our first date. He had a friend hiding behind some bushes to take pictures. There was even a wedding party at the park taking pictures and when he went down on one knee, they started cheering.
In the hour that we were gone, several friends snuck into our house and set up a bunch of food and decorations and Fh had coordinated with my 4 younger sisters and our parents to come from 3.5 hours away to surprise me with a surprise engagement party. While I was low-key aware that there would probably be a proposal that day (it was chilly and kinda rainy and we haaaaad to leave for the park at noon. Haha), it was amazing to walk into our house and be handed a glass of champagne and then get to spend the afternoon with great friends and family while listening to stories of all the things people had to do to keep me from finding out about the party for the past 2 months
My ring is a rose gold art deco Heidi Gibson style ring that Fh had custom made by a local jeweler. Our venue is a converted film processing studio built in 1929 so we’ll definitely be working that art deco angle!!
He’s very sweet and we’re super excited and I just wanted to share with everyone and officially say hello!!
