No one else can ever understand what we have had to endure to get to that point. I think that I will ask her privately. We have done the time and fought this battle, just the two of us. No one else deserves to share that moment.

That is a very personal decision. Has she mentioned anything? My bf at the time knew I didn’t want family at the proposal but to be around once engaged. And that’s exactly how it was done making it perfect. If you’re unsure maybe ask one of her friends or family members if they’ve heard her ever saying anything. Best of luck!

I love that she has no idea. I was completely blindsided by my hub's proposal, I thought he was breaking up with me, lol!

Know your audience! You said earlier she is the apple of her parent's eye, and if you include them on this they may think they should be in on everything, maybe? Just food for thought.

For me personally, I liked that it was just us. It allowed us to both enjoy the moment and be happy together. My family already knew what was happening and met up with us afterwards for dinner celebrations!

When my FH proposed, it was just the two of us, which was just what I always wanted. I never wanted my proposal to be a show, even for immediate family.
