    PRO: pretty pictures!

CON: coordinating getting everyone out together on time lighting up their sparklers?

Pros: gorgeous!! Cons: not all venues allow them. Check if yours does before choosing to do one.

We wanted a sparkler send off but the environmental law at two venues that we choose doesn't allow sparklers. Not sure if it's 100% a state thing, but both of them said it was per state law. I was so bummed. Probably for liability reasons - IDK. I figured it would maybe make guests want to stay until the end. We choose to do a "Just married send off" with wedding wands as we exit the church rather than later after the reception.

Pro - It will make for some awesome pictures!

    Pro: Super fun and pretty!

Con: They burn at over 1,000 degrees and are a lot more dangerous than people think they are.

Pros: It makes for a pretty picture

Cons: It's smelly, can potentially ruin your dress (Blake Lively), dangerous for your venue and could cost a lot with insurance

Con: Am I the only one that gets freaked out that I would be walking through sparks when I have a massive amount of hairspray in my hair?

    Pro: Same as everyone...pictures

I had everything purchased for a Sparkler Send off but decided about an hour before the reception was over not to do it because I could tell it was going to be a huge pain in the butt to assemble everyone in front of the venue ...I kind of regret it but I knew the guests would have been a little aggravated

My BM dress caught on fire once. No joke. Just the bottom- but it was scary!

I work at a wedding place and we do sparkler send offs all the time. I have yet to see anyone's hair or dress catch on fire. Just make sure that whoever is coordinating the sparkler send off has people leave enough space and its not too crowded and you should be perfectly fine. Just wanted to throw that in there. Also, it helps if the coordinator will light peoples in different places in the line and then they light the persons next to them. Make sure you get long sparklers.

Pros: makes for a magical and fun send off. Plus the pictures are great

Cons: Cant really think of any

We're not doing one, but another big pro is that it will mean more people will stay until the end.

Cons: Our pictures didn't turn out that great actually. I think it was too bright outside of our venue.

Pro: Several guests commented to me that they had fun doing it.

Pro: The pictures is really the only pro.

Cons: You have to organize people, people will either leave before you do it if you wait til the end of the reception, or if you do it earlier in the reception and then try to go back in to the reception then people will leave sooner than you want. Fire hazard. I can't figure out how you would plan how many to get. Smiley sad

Pro: like everyone else said can make for good pictures

con: getting ppl to stay for them.... the only two weddings I attended w/ a sparkler send off I wasn't there for it. By the time they sent off 90% of guest were gone. it wasn't until the pro pictures came back and posted on FB did I realize there was one. and even then it was less than 15 participants.

Ok so I think we are going to not do the sparkler send off. Now I am thinking of having guests throw confetti during the recessional... What do you think?

Our church banned throwing anything after the ceremony.. party poopers. Find out if anything is restricted and how it will be cleaned up first, I'd say.

Confetti might not be allowed either. It doesn't decompose and it's frustrating to clean. We did rose petals outside.

Unless your face is in a sparkler you wont get burned, i put sparklers in my lip piercings with it lit and my face has yet to burn....however some sparks can leave small marks on your dress....thats the only extent of damage ive ever seen
