Proud BBW

Arizona Bride, on November 20, 2011 at 8:24 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 50

I am a bigger girl, and I am dang proud of it! How many ladies are NOT going on a diet and getting the dress formed to them (not form to the dress)?

I'm not going to try to diet but I normally lose weight when I stress out soooo we'll see. My FH likes it and I'm happy. And I've been told by a family member a big girl shouldn't wear the dress I'm buying BUT you know what, I love that dress (it's actually made for the bigger brides by Mori Lee) AND I look DAMN GOOD in it! Woo lmao I needed a post like this! Lol the side pic is bad since they didn't tie it up tight and of course it'd need to altered. Oh haha and ignore the red bra and the looks I'm giving the camera, it was over 100 degrees outside and the salons a/c was broke.

Girl, you look gorgeous!! I hate people that say stupid crap about BBW. My mom is always commenting on my weight, and its annoying. DH likes me being bigger and to me, if he likes it and isn't turned off by it, then I'm fine the way I am.

Yep I agree if you have no problem and your FH doesn't either then people can bite it. Lol. I've been tiny and I've been big. I'm more happy bigger cause I LOVE food! And I'm still healthy I can walk without needing a break or climb stairs and stuff, heck I'm a stay at home mom to a two year old...he keeps me active enough!

I am decently active and will be measures for my gown after I finish my current workout installment as a precaution. I have no grand aspirations or disillusions of grandeur about become a Victoria Secret model overnight. I shall order a dress that fits my shape and not permit a dress to order mine.

I think you look so lovely. It is a wonderful dress and you will look radiant in it.

    I didn't go on a diet.

I'm all for those who do to be healthy or whatever, but I don't like how some think they should go on a diet just becuase they go engaged and want to look slimmer in wedding pictures.

If that was the case, they should've lost weight before. obviously your man likes you just the way you are

I didn't go on a diet. I was a size 18, and I bought a dress that fit me (with minor alterations).

I am not going on a diet. I will get a dress that fits me. I met FH a size 16-18 and have not lost any and have not gained any. He loves me the way I am. I am active and walk all the time. But never lose much but it is ok.

I was between two sizes and bought the LARGER size. The idea of starving myself to fit the dress or worrying about it not zippering is not for me! FH fell in love with me just the way I am. This dress was actually 2 sizes too small but I got it on and was elated since I knew it was the one!

I am most definitely going to diet in the next 3 months, I've turned into a cow the last few months and my FW deserves much better.

Kelsey J.: If you want to search for that style, it is a David's Bridal 5268. Or the Davinci Bridal style 8008 is supposed to be the same style. Good luck!

I did not go an a diet. Between planning my wedding, my now husband moving out of state, losing my house from being out of work and then starting a new job. I did not want the stress of a diet. I found a dress that came in plus sizes and had it altered. Taken in a bit and definitely shortened.

*raises hand* me neither! We will have only had a 5.5 month engagement, and I'm the same size as the day we met. I found a dress that fit me really well, and so we decided to diet after the wedding. We both want/need to lose some weight, but decided it'd be best to do it after and not add 1 more thing to stress about. Smiley smile

@ Jessica - I tried on that dress!! I LOVED the top, but the bottom looked goofy on me - I think it looks great on you!!!

Here's me the day we bought my dress (tanlines are now gone, thank goodness!).

Aww Ashley that was my dress, too! I love it! =] I had sleeves added to mine cause I don't like my arms, lol. It looks awesome on you!

I didnt diet. I would hate to have pictures of me all different than normal and look back to that and be like what was I thinking? I wanted pics of the real me, if that makes sense.

Did you know that in many cultures, being over weight is a GOOD thing because it means that you can afford to eat? Did you know that if we went without food for a week, we'd burn fat, but those without fat to burn would likely get really sick and start burning other reserves? It's ok to be overweight, it may not be healthy to be far overweight, but a little bit of fat isn't a bad thing.

The only person in my life who cares about my weight is my mom, which is why she didn't go dress shopping with me but my FMIL did. Nick saw my full naked body several times the 2 1/2 years before he proposed, and if he expected me to suddenly loose weight for the wedding, I'd worry that he'd expect me to be wrinkle free when I'm 60.
