I'm getting married on a Friday, and flying out for our honeymoon that Saturday morning. I really don't foresee myself being able to work the full week of my wedding with all of the last minute things needing to be done.

Did you work the full week of your wedding? Did you get/use PTO? Or just go unpaid?

I’ve been saving PTO to use , I’m planning on taking the Friday before and the Monday after off. We’ll have about a week before our honeymoon for 4 weeks.

My husband and I got married on a Saturday and both worked until 1PM on Friday afternoon. I would have worked the full day, but I went straight from the rehearsal (5PM) to the rehearsal dinner then to the hotel room so I had to make sure I had everything packed up in the truck and ready to go because I wouldn't have a chance to run back and get anything I accidentally left behind and we needed to prep some stuff for the rehearsal dinner and bring all of our decorations to the venue with us. So, you know, I needed a couple of hours Smiley tongue The time we took off on Friday afternoon was unpaid.

In a normal year I would have 40hrs of vacation time, but since my work had to shut down for 2 months when COVID first hit last year it was a bit less. We didn't accrue vacation time during the shutdown, so I had 34hrs of vacation time. My husband doesn't get vacation time, so the only "pay" we got for that week was my 34hrs of vacation time. We would have loved another week for our honeymoon, but definitely wouldn't have been able to afford to take more time off (especially since we had to pay rent right when we got back... ouch).

I am taking 2-3 days off before and the week off after. I get ample time off of work so just used my regular accruals.

I have a LOT of vacation time (PTO) saved up and am taking the full week of my wedding off work since I get married on a Tuesday. We will have brunch with some of the guests and family on Wednesday and then have the end of that week all the way through the end of the following week for our honeymoon. So 2 weeks of PTO total 😁. FH is part time so he doesn't get PTO but it also means he just tells his boss not to schedule him for those 2 weeks.

I had a mother in law for 20 years and just always called her by her first name.

I was very fortunate that my job was flexible, and I had a ton of PTO. I took nearly the whole month off (starting 3 days before the wedding) and then the rest for honeymoon. It was wonderful!
