Pubes not Boobs

Piecesofadream, on January 16, 2014 at 9:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

I heard a lady say this on David Tutera Unveiled in regards to where your (and bridesmaids) bouquets should be placed in photos. So she suggest you take photos with the bouquet in the lower center of your body instead of up top which we tend to automatically do.

Anyone else have some tip for taking great pictures?? Especially the wives on the board who have already been down the wedding road.

Ha! I like that saying...I've seen many brides hold it so high & in my head I'm like "lower it please"

Never stand facing the camera head on. Most photographers know this and will position accordingly, but tilting your body slightly in a picture can make you look MUCH slimmer.

I read the title of this and SO many things flew through my head haha

My mom was a florist so I know it drives her batty when people hold them too high. she said to me at my sisters wedding "I worked really hard on that bouquet you're ruining it if you're holding it too high... DONT" lol loving mother <3

Needless to say I held it at the right height all night! lol

Never take a picture head on. put your fattest bridesmaid next to you . Get a big bouquet. Arm lifted off of body. Birds view angle for camera. Legs on an angle. Practice your smile.

    "Arm lifted off body"

YES x1000 ... I learned this the hard way from engagement pics. my arms looked super fat because i didn't know to just pull them away from my body. My wedding photos were much better knowing this. Good one @Champagne.

Don't send the fattest Bridesmaid comment though @Jesse's girl lol

A bigger bouquet gives the impression of a smaller body. Like big sunglasses, big purses or carrying a big baby.

@GameCox, Thanks for the pin. My original idea was to ask if people had boards for wedding photo ideas, but I didn't think many people would have them (like I do) but you do!!! Thanks!

Put your tongue up against your bottom teeth when smiling. It makes "fake smiling" look more natural!

@Champagne you are hilarious! My one bridesmaid was telling me the other day that if I'm pregnant when she gets engaged, that she won't ask me to be a bridesmaid because she doesn't want any pregnant bridesmaids. I told her fine, but I'd make her look better anyway!

I tell my brides & bridesmaids to hold the bouquets in front of their bellybuttons.

If your elbows are pointed away from your body, it makes you look like you have a waist, even if you don't. Have you noticed the celebs doing that?

Another way to avoid a game looking smile: think of something funny or force yourself to laugh. You'll automatically take on a more natural and more "you" smile.
