Public or Confidential Marriage License?? California

I live in California and got the public marriage license. It is rare to get a confidential marriage license but one of the reasons a couple might get one is due to a violent ex stalking one of them and they want to keep their marriage private for fear of escalating the situation.

Confidential license is mostly for a) high profile people who want to maintain privacy, b) people who have stalkers, and c) people who don't want anyone seeing the date on the marriage and figuring out that the baby was born only six months later. In other circumstances, the public one is generally preferable, because it is easier to prove and easier to get a copy of your marriage certificate.
