Has anybody on here gotten or know of anybody that has gotten their wedding cake and/or grooms cake from PUBLIX? Looking online, their cakes are really pretty and can be completely customized to what you would like, and of course are about half the price of what a private bakery would charge. We have our cakes ordered through a private bakery already, but I'm all about saving $ if we can get the same cakes for about half the cost. Any insight on these cakes at all??? Thanks! Smiley smile

We don't have a Publix up north, but I'm certain we are getting our cake from Walmart. It was between Walmart and Costco. They both have THE BEST cakes I've ever tasted! Hands down!

We chose Walmart because we don't have a Costco membership. Delicious and cheap...I'm SOLD!! And you can add fillings at no cost. We're getting a 3 tier (which feeds 164 people) for about $130!! And they frost the cake with buttercream icing, not fondant (I HATE fondant). And the picture we saw of the cake was beautiful!! Ummm, SCORE?!

Hi Joleigh... I had Publix for my cake. I had cupcakes and a small cake to save for our 1st anniversary next year. It was super affordable and everybody loved it, it was delicious! Here's a pic of some of the cupcakes and the small cake.

My cousin's cake was from publix and the groom still brags about how awesome it was.

Another vote for Publix! I'm always looking for a reason to celebrate something just for an excuse to get a cake from there. And as an added bonus, I've never seen a Publix cake featured on CakeWrecks.com ; ).

This is awesome ladies! @Candice J I didnt think about Wal-Mart but I will check there as well, my mom works in the pharmacy at Wal-Mart here so we would get a discount as well

@Sandra P. your cake looks great! That design is similar to what we want as well

THANK YOU ALL! You all have made us feel alot better about going the "cheaper" route with the wedding cake and grooms cake
