Pumpkins and sunflowers

So my wedding theme is pumpkins and sunflowers. Pinterest is both a blessing and a curse with so many ideas. Because of my budget, I'm diying all the flowers. The venue thankfully is taking care of the rest. Where would I go to get a ton of Pumpkins? Should I haunt the pumpkin patch or go to the grocery store? We're hoping to do something like this.

Do you have pumpkin growers or farmers markets near you? I would contact them in the spring/summer and place an order, so you know you are getting the number and size you need. White pumpkins would look great.

White pumpkins and placing an advanced order are a great idea! I don't think where you get the pumpkins (grocery or farm) matters so much as the price does. Like Muriel said, placing an advanced order may help you pre-determine cost and give you peace of mind knowing they will be ready when you need them. I love the pictures of your ideas!

I bought a couple of large pumpkins from Menards for $2.50 each to carve wedding designs in, and my florist made something like your inspo pic in small pumpkins for $50 each. Not sure if that's helpful, but ours turned out great, I was really happy w it! You can buy wedding designs really cheap online and carve designs in pumpkins the week of instead of just writing on them!

I Looooove this! I saw on pinterest doing little pumpkins as gifts for guests that doubled as their seating card too- so cute! I would do a pumpkin patch if its do-able for your time frame but they probably also mark up the prices so I'm not sure.

I love the pumpkin idea, but I agree that you should go with white pumpkins. My sister got married last year and used white pumpkins with flowers on top as the centerpieces. Lots of fall colored flowers. I don't know if it's just me, but using normal pumpkins almost gives me a "dirty" vibe? But white pumpkins would have more of a classy and wedding-y feel to them.

Our colors are actually burgundy, pumpkin, and sunflower. So orange pumpkins work best. But I'll keep white in mind

I plan on using a ton of white pumpkins for décor at my wedding. In August 2018 I plan on going to a farmer up the road from my house to find out if I can buy the different types of pumpkins from him. I would check out a local farmer if I were you; you'll get the best price.
