St. Lucia if you want laid back and seclusion. We went to Jade Mountain last year and loved how relaxing it was.
Punta Cana if you want activity and entertainment. When we went we stayed at The Sivory but at that time it was brand new and secluded.

I've been hearing some negative things going on in D.R. I've actually heard of 4 stories recently that's happened within the last 6 months are so regarding American tourists. Do a little more research if your heart is set on that location regarding crime & tourist, etc. St. Lucia is where I'm wanting to go for our honeymoon. It just looks so beautiful!
