Pure Barre (and super sore abs)

Mal-Pal, on January 1, 2016 at 12:30 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 9

My name is Malory and I have become a Pure Barre addict! I wanted to tone up for my wedding (I've put on a few happy relationship pounds from eating out a lot) and just wanted to get back on to the health wagon in general. I purchased the two week unlimited for $50 and am so sore but LOVE it! It's a ballet inspired fusion of pilates, yoga, and barre work and focuses on problem areas for women!

It's pricey but so worth it to me (I'm dropping my cable and just keeping my internet to offset the cost) and they have a bride-to-be special! I've done Insanity, P90X, 30 Day Shred, and trained for triathlons and half marathons and let me tell you this is the hardest/best workout I've ever had! If you're looking to tone up, try Pure Barre!!!

I tried it and loved it but other than being insanely sore for weeks on end, I didn't see any long term improvements. Smiley sad I hope it works better for you!

I tried it and hated it! Shocking because I used to be a dancer! My love workout is hot yoga!

I used to take cardio Barre classes! I literally threw up the first class. The second I almost passed out, and I'm way too short for the ballet bar, but I LOVED going to classes. I'm not much of a workout at home type.

I absolutely love Pure Barre! However, because of cost, I purchased the DVD sets. I purchased ultimate pure results six dvd package ($132.95), flex series package ($59.95) and several others from: http://www.purebarre.com/shop/dvds-equipment.html. I think you'll enjoy them as much as the classes. I still go, when they have a special.

I love Pure Barre, I bought a Groupon for $79 for 10 classes after that I bought classes when they had a special (they always do!). I also go to Orange Theory twice a week... I would like to loose about 7lbs for my wedding that is in less than 2 months!

I did barre3 for about a year. I tried pure barre after barre3 and pure barre wasn't for me. I'm in the camp that even after being sore nothing but my legs toned up. They were over toned actually. It's great you found something you loved.

Ana I really want to try orange theory but someone told me I'd hate it because they said it's very drill sergeant. What do you think?

I also do Pure Barre and love it! It's a great escape for an hour from all of the stress of planning a wedding and working! You really have to focus on your body rather than everything else going on in the real world. It is pricey but definitely worth it! I feel more flexible and more able to do things that I wasn't able to do when I started. They also have a bridal package for 3 months for $375 so maybe give it a try! Smiley smile
