qr Code for Registry & Cash App

Is it tacky to put a QR code for the registry and cash app at the gift table? I used the same background for the invitations to give it a ‘elegant look’ however, now I am debating if I should put them out. I was thinking about putting them in a 4x6 frame. Also, we added ‘monetary gifts encouraged’...

This is an etiquette board though so proper etiquette is kind of what we do here.

Honeyfund is a bit deceptive to guests, and I disagree with it because of that. You guests will be led to believe they are directly buying you experience gifts, when that isn't true. Honeyfund just takes their thoughtfully chosen experience gifts and transfers the money to you, minus a processing fee.

People know how to give money as a wedding gift, it's been done for centuries before Honeyfunds and QR codes.

    All the best, Imani!

Thanks a lot Jacks! I removed the wording and Honeyfund in all. I only have the two registries on the website and we’ll include a card box at the gift table.

Perfect! That sounds great. FWIW when I go to weddings I usually put a cheque or gift card to somewhere I know they want in my card.

You can spread it kind of "word of mouth' when people ask you or your closest what you want you could have them say "I don't think they need anything physical for the home, but they're saving for.....". That's OK re: etiquette.

If you're having a card box I would keep it fairly secure. There have been stories here about people in the venue taking from the card box.

REALLY?!?! wow! now that i’ve never heard about. I might have to look into another option. They do have this one type of box where you put stuff in and set a timer and the box can’t open for the amount of time you put it on. If that makes sense. I saw something like that on the internet lol

I think if you keep the box in the banquet room, maybe by the bar where someone is always there. Other people can weigh in on this, but I wouldn't leave it where there is public access like in a hallway or at the front door of the room.

So you can choose the other options of it for sending the money, yes you can send gifts payment through it. Sometime the cash app provide the extra discount which will be really helpful for you when you ate purchasing.

I feel that if done in the right way it doesn't have to be quite as tacky but the look of this is, I'm sorry.

A little explanation provided could be less tacky- "Your attendance is gift enough for us! For those who would like to donate to Blah Blah Blah..." something like that but very small next to the card box.. its still pushing it a bit but its better than just a random QR with a $ on it. I hope this helps.

Haha I'm now unsure too.. I had a Honeyfund account even though I never liked the way it looked like but deleted it since I didn't realize it takes a percentage or fee. I was going to put that fund link as a QR code but seems like there's a lot of hate on that so I'm now second guessing myself. I just know that we will have people wonder how they're going to send us money and a lot of people don't really carry cash or checkbooks...

We just want a nice vacation after having kids and the contribution would be nice but we're certainly not requiring or asking it from people. I suppose if anyone wanted to I will just have them Venmo or Zelle us money personally instead of having a code at the wedding *shrug*
