Does anybody have any good weight loss routines that they want to share? I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding next May and feeling very setback by COVID/no gym/extremely hot weather.

I started using Aaptiv and absolutely love it! It's perfect for at home workouts with/without weights or equipment.

Use a meal tracker like Lose it or My Fitness Pal to help track your intakes.

Cut Sugars and carbs - Don't need to go to no / low carb, but limit your carbs to breakfast and lunch at a moderate amount.

Walking around the neighborhood, pool aerobics (if you have access)

YouTube videos - my favorite is the "Sally Up" squats - they have other versions... but it makes you love / hate the song.

Check out workout videos on YouTube. They have them for every different workout type and all skill levels, and they can be done at home in the air conditioning. If you like running, you can always run (or walk or roller blade) around the neighborhood when it's a little cooler or in the evening/early morning. Map My Run is good for tracking distance if you wanted to see how far you ran.

I've been tracking on the Lose It app and it's been great. I started in March and I've lost 15 pounds. I got a little lazy with it in July because we were visiting FH's mom. It lets you set your height, current weight, goal weight, and how many pounds you want to lose per week and then gives you a calorie limit and after tracking for 7 days it gives you an estimated date for when you'll hit your goal. FH and I have also been doing home workout videos on YouTube. MadFit is really good because her workouts are all at home, she has apartment friendly options, and most are 30 minutes or less!

I’m a fan of Weight Watchers (now called WW). They have a few different programs to pick from based on how many of the zero point foods you like, and you can just do the online version if you don’t want to go in person.

Try to cook your own meals as much as possible and focus on eating cleaner, get mini workouts in where possible (crunches and pushups during commercial breaks watching tv).

For our wedding (pre-COVID), I lost 15 lbs using the Tone it Up app and eating healthier - mainly cutting out soda, desserts, coffee creamer & eating out often. During COVID, I lost 8 lbs using the Sweat App workouts in 3 months. I've continued with that & love the workout program.

Hey! I know exactly how you feel. I’m getting married next June and with wedding dress shopping in September I knew I needed to get a headstart on this 20-30 pound weight loss. While I wasted the first 3 months of quarantine I finally decided to start mid June with a workout program that consists of a video to do everyday for 25 minutes along with a caloric deficit. I found a YouTube video that walked me through the steps and sights to calculate my caloric deficit based on my bmr and tdee. By July 10 I noticed the weight had remained and I was furious and discouraged. I live in a cramped Basement studio apartment with tiny tiny windows and poor air quality fans are all we have. So working out takes a lot to do and is hard to get done with the heat. I spent most of July 12 on YouTube looking at tips to lose weight during quarantine. I basically had to learn that simply working out for 20-40 minutes a day and then sitting or laying down for the rest was not enough. I needed to be active all day. That day I decided to commit myself to 30 days of getting 10,000 steps, along with intermittent fasting and sticking to my deficit but cleaning my eating a bit more. Today is 30 days later and I am 10 pounds down. What I learned was it is best to spread steps out throughout the day instead of all at once. This allows you to burn what you consume during the entire day. I try to walk an hour after lunch and dinner for maybe 15-20 minutes. Depending on the heat, if it is a cooler day I will do my couch25k app which is a combo of walking and running which helps me keep things different so my body doesn’t get used to steady state walking. I still eat my pizza just not from dominos or papa Johns my fiancé and I split a pizza we buy from the store called red barren which is way less calories and so tasty. We still eat hamburgers but instead of beef we do turkey, I make us low calorie baked macaroni and cheese a recipe I found online along with air fried chicken. And I have taken out pancakes from my breakfast options and opt for boiled eggs turkey bacon and low sugar oatmeal. Some days I incorporate a arm, butt or ab circuit along with my walking to tone and shape the muscle under the fat. Also I follow gauge girl training on Instagram and YouTube and what I like about her platform is that she teaches women how to train and eat for their body type because it plays a huge role in the way we will lose weight. I’m a meso-endomorph so I go with endomorph training because I have the metabolism of one. So my training must have cardio of the minimum 45 minutes in a fasted state is best. I walk everyday for an hour before I eat my first meal at 12 or 1. Sorry it’s so long. But I hope you find it helpful!

I’m doing Weight Watchers and Beach Body. Love them both! I use the online only version of WW, it’s $20 a month. I’m down 65 pounds since Nov 2019, and lost a total of 8 inches off my body after my first three week program on BB. Planet Fitness offers free workouts on YouTube as well, I was using those before I signed up for BB.

I reccomend a workout app called 7M women. It has a variety of 7-15 minute workouts that you can pick based on what area you want to target (stretches, back, arms, etc). They're all made to be done at home with no weights but I've actually noticed a difference after doing them.

I also reccomend trying keto. You can always do dirty keto if you're like me and can't give up carbs completely 😂 and I combine that with intermittent fasting (a good app for that is fasting tracker, it gives you tips, educates you on IF, and helps you track your times so you can set goals).
