Queen Anne neckline and sleeves

Courtnee, on January 22, 2017 at 1:02 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

So i decided that i would like to wear my mothers wedding dress and i wanted to be modernize it to fit my personality. I have been searching for ways to make a jacket that can be sewn to my mothers dress that has a queen anne neckline and keyhole back with long sleeves. My mothers dress has lace with pearls sewn in to accentuate the pattern on the bodice of her dress and i would like to see if there is a way to find a lace similar to create the same affect and sew the pearls to it. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry the picture isnt the greatest

What is a Queen Anne's neckline? I've never heard of that one before.

I assume the combination of key hole back and Queen Anne neckline looks something like this?

Another picture that i have. So im basically wanting to remove my mothers poofy princess sleeves and create my own lace sleeves to match the lace and pearls in this picture. I just want to be able to have them connect in the back like a queen anne neckline with th keyhole back. From pictures i have seen from my parents wedding the back of the dress was at my mothers mid back

Bring it to a seamstress and ask. She/he will want to see it out of the box though I'd assume.

With the pictures of your mom in the dress I get such a better vision than in the box. It looks like it will be gorgeous with the sleeves taken off and it more of a sweetheart neckline and a keyhole back. If you would like a train too since you have to take off some length, you might be able to have them do it just from the front. I'm not a seamstress though, but I would imagine it could work. So sweet that you are wearing your mom's dress by the way!

I am so excited to get it out of the box and try it on. At first when my mom offered it to me i was sceptical but then i couldnt quit thinking about wearing it. It was keeping me awake at night!! So i decided that i need to wear my mom's dress bcuz of how sentimental it is and my mom saved it just for me

I am wearing my grandmothers dress. My mom wore it also and now I am. I would bring it to a seamstress and see how it looks on you and see what you could do alter it for your own taste. I had a better idea on how it fits when it was on me and when it was taken in. I had to compromise on certain things I wanted but it still gorgeous and I love the sentiment part of the dress. I am third generation wearing it.
