Question About Signs and Easels

Nikki, on August 25, 2017 at 9:49 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

So I have about 2 largish wedding signs and a couple photos that would need an easel. I just saw the prices of those beautiful wrought iron easels. Ouch! What did you guys do? Buy them? Can you rent from anywhere? Did your venue have them? Just curious!

I'd ask your venue before you buy one. I know many of my venues have them and use them every time I'm there.

I just bought a dark wooden easel from AC Moore last week for our welcome sign. After a 50% off coupon, it was $9. For the price, it'll get the job done!

I ended up using some easels from when I was in art school and spray painted them gold! I got them super cheap at Michael's back in the day!

Our venue had them. Definitely ask before buying. We had bought a couple of black ones that weren't too expensive from Wayfair, and we donated to our venue since I was silly and bought them before asking.

@Celia and Nicole....that's what I was hoping! I didn't go crazy with signs so it's not like I need a bunch but damn they are pricey! I sent an email to my venue here's hoping!

I know my daughter's venue has at least one that we can use. I'm hoping they have another as well. Definitely check with your venue first.

We were able to find one from a local FB wedding resale group.

Thank you for asking this question, I also looked and was surprised by the prices of the wrought iron ones. Anyone know about podiums--do most venues have those?

I got a nice wrought iron easel on Amazon for less than $40. I'm only using that for our wooden welcome sign and I know we will be able to use it in the future. I need a couple other easels for pictures, but I will either get cheap ones off Amazon or see if I can borrow them.

I keep an eye out on the Facebook marketplace. I've found 3 large table top ones. I'm still looking for one or 2 standing ones. I saw one on there the other day, but couldn't pick it up right then and had to pass.

I was wondering the same thing. They are so expensive. Did your venue had some?

My venue has 4 that we're allowed to use. I would imagine they aren't cheap! The ones at my venue are super heavy!

IKEA sells a children's easel that is very cheap and I'm considering using to let people know that the graffiti-ed wharehouse is in fact the right place and Siri did not give the wrong directions

Ask your venue and also check with local party/wedding rental places to rent them
