I am doing destination wedding in Hawaii with around 20 people. I am renting out 2 houses for 1 week for everyone to enjoy Hawaii and our wedding. Now.. the more I am thinking about Airfare Cost - Should I also cover that? How would you suggest to deal with airfare? It's over $15,000 for 20 people....

Does anyone has experience with destination wedding where cost of air is over $700. Did you cover it fully yourself? Did you "pass" it to your guests? Did you pay half or certain amount?

Please share and give advice.

I'm having a DW in the Dominican Republic next May. No way I can afford everyone's airfare. Most are ok with this since they have over a year to save. But there is one family I really want to come. It wouldn't be right without them and I know it is going to be tougher for them financially than the others. So I'm sending them a kind of gift certificate for a portion of the trip along with the invitation. All they have to do is give it to my travel agent along with the rest of their payment and I will cover that portion of their travel costs.

I got screwed. For my brother's wedding in Jamaica I paid for everything myself. I think they can pay for the air fare that is a lot for you to take upon yourself.

My wedding will be in Milan, Italy and most of our guests are coming from NY, Australia and the Philippines and it would cost us a fortune if we ever pay for their airfares since we invited nearly a hundred and fifty guests. But fortunately for us, 95% of our wedding guests already RSVP'd and voluntarily said that they will be paying for their airfares and hotels. However, aside from our coordinator, we got a travel agent so we could get the best deal of fares for our guests, we thought that even in this way, we could extend them our gratitude. We've also arranged for tours around Milan and that, we will pay for them (its cheaper than paying the entire airfare of our guests), and also, welcome and airline baskets of favors will go along with it upon their arrival and departure in Milan.
