Question for the DIY brides - I need help with making a bamboo arch

Syd A., on May 23, 2011 at 2:02 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

I would like to make my own bamboo arch for my beach wedding, since I refuse to spend $300 for one. I found a place in my hometown that sells bamboo poles for about $3 each, and I will go to a fabric store for the white silky fabric for the drapes.

Does anyone know how to tie the bamboo poles together? And how to drape the fabric across so it looks nice? I'm not very crafty, so I need all the help I can get. If you have any links, please post them..I appreciate it!

You tie up the poles with yute or raffia that much I know. The fabric you can pin it together or sew it? Maybe even use some glue gun to help you out. Good luck!

**UPDATE: I found a white wood arch to rent for $55, and I'm just going to buy silk flowers and decorate it myself. I think that would be a lot easier and less stressful

Thanks for the advice though ladies!
