Question for those who got Costco flowers!

Sarah195, on March 28, 2016 at 3:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

How far in advance did you place your order? I am ordering my reception flowers (awesome deal btw!) but didn't know exactly when I should do that since they aren't a normal florist.

I don't know about Costco, but my best friend ordered hers from Sams a few months in advance. They had her choose the pickup date, but when she went to get them they didn't have all of what she ordered. I'll be using Costco, and I'm planning on ordering in April for a June wedding.

Order them early you can tell them when to deliver. My sister used them for her wedidng they are beautiful and delivered to her venue the day before as she had requested. The venue put them in the florist fridge on site and they were PERFECT.

The sooner the better because sometimes they come from out of the country. Like my sister's came form South Africa. It helps the growers anticipate the demand.

Usually for bulk floral delivery like that, they tell you to have them arrive 2-3 days before the wedding to give the flowers time to rehydrate and open up after being shipped. I did Sam's Club and Fiftyflowers, and they were delivered on the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding. ETA: I placed the order as soon as my delivery date was available in their system, which I want to say was about a month in advance?

We used Sam's Club. I ordered them online, chose a delivery date that was two days before my wedding. They were delivered w/ no problems what so ever.

I ordered them thirty days in advance. I just got an email that half of my order shipped today for delivery on Thursday. I just did calla lilies regular and mini.

I ordered mine from Costco 1 month before the wedding and had them scheduled for delivery on the Wednesday before. They told me it would be delivered by 10 am and they arrived at 9:30 am. for 200 stems I had (5) 5 gallon buckets waiting with water and flower food. You do have to purchase your own flower food, mine did not come with any. I did the centerpieces on Thursday, made sure they were well watered with more food on Friday and they were gorgeous on Saturday.

I used Sam's Club and placed the order a month ahead of time. For a Saturday wedding, they were delivered on Wednesday and I dethorned, cut stems, and put in water; on Thursday, I made the arrangements. On Friday, I changed out the water then took them to the venue.

@MrsA - your recap of your florals is what convinced me to do my own! Smiley smile I ordered flower food, but I ordered from Fifty Flowers since they were having a sale. I'm really looking forward to sharing how it goes after the wedding with other brides!

ETA: I placed my order with Fifty Flowers a couple months ago and they called to confirm. Since I am arranging them myself, I had them delivered Wednesday, I will arrange Thursday, and we will drop off at the venue on Friday for our Saturday wedding.

Seems like I should place my order now if they let me! I am so excited about ordering from Costco because the flowers look so beautiful and I will be paying $90 for 25 centerpieces and some extra flowers to display in the reception hall.

I placed my order 3 months in advance. They say on the website that you can do it up to 2 weeks before, but that would make me super nervous.

We're doing a lot of purple so I thought it would be nice to add some pops of orange in Smiley smile
