Questions before building a flower wall

Chi-Chi, on February 8, 2017 at 7:20 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Hi everyone,

I'd like to build a flower wall for a photo booth but I don't know where to start.

Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to build a structure for the wall, what size wall is ideal for transportation to a venue, and how to make really big beautiful paper flowers or any other decorations that may be good for the wall?

Also if you can let me know how long it took you to build your wall that will help me know how soon I should get on it!

Thank you!

Did you try googling or following pins on pinterest? I found a couple of good sources:

    http://paperflora.com/tips-on-how-to-hang-paper-flowers-for-backdrops-and-photo-walls/

This is one of those things I wish we could do - but DW and DIY don't mix easily!

I'm building one as well. It takes A LOT of time, so make sure you are going to be able to have the time to be able to invest in it. I plan on getting some sort of foam board insulation, like you would for a house, for Home Depot or something. Then I (by I, I mean FH) will take some scrap wood we have to make a brace of it to stand upright in. Does that make sense?

Check our Anyone can craft on YouTube, she has some good videos and has links to free petal templates off of her website.

You can build a PVC pipe frame to attach the wall to. There are options on what to build the wall with I'm not building a full flower wall but did make some large accent pieces and used foam core presentation boards and hot glued them to it. I will attach them to the wall with large picture hanging command strips. This is the paper flower tutorial that I used.

Here are the window accents I made.

@Futuremrs I was planning on doing that as well with some of the flowers we are making. I wasn't sure how I was going to make them be that shape as an accent. Thanks!

@APD I just cut two 12" strips from the foam core board and used duct tape to secure them into the L shape. Also your flowers look great!
