Quick elopement dress, can i get away with not altering?

Brittany, on September 5, 2021 at 11:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
I purchased a dress I love for a quick 15-20 minute elopement and some photos afterwards (1 hr max). I don’t need to worry about wearing it all day or walking down an isle/dancing or people stepping on it. Honestly, I’m also just scared that with how intricate it is it’ll be ruined if I have anything done to it. I’m fine with holding it up for a little while to get to and from. I adore it, but I also don’t want to look sloppy!? I’m barefoot in the photo, my fiancé is 2 inches taller than me so I will probably be at most 2 inches taller on the day of.

Low cost and beautiful landscape is our entire goal. We’ve been together a long time and want to keep this sweet and simple and have a great camping trip directly after the elopement for our honeymoon.
I’d love some gentle honesty here, can I get away with this length for the circumstances?
Thanks!Quick elopement dress, can i get away with not altering? 1

I'd leave it if you're not bothered about walking around in it. You can always just lift it at the front and ask your soon to be husband to manage the back! It's lovely, by the way!

Thank you so much! I was hoping to hear someone else would just do the same and keep it as is as well. All I’ve read is brides being told they have to alter and it’s making me so anxious lol.

    Haha you're welcome!

I mean, it could definitely be done without damaging the dress, and if you were planning on walking down an aisle, trying to carry a big bunch of flowers, in heels, maybe unable to see what you were doing, and you had the time... then sure! Do it!

But if these aren't considerations for you then I wouldn't bother if you love it how it is.

I think with the heels and not worrying about anyone stepping on it you'll be fine!

This gown is beautiful! You cannot tell from
The pictures that it hasn’t been tailored. It should be fine for walking, if you gather a bit at the side while you walk.
