I personally wanted an outdoor ceremony. i would be ok with an indoor one but rain would be sort of a downer if that's the case. but to the brides who unexpectedly had that happen - kudos for you for taking it in stride

Rain was the one thing I wasn’t worried about! We got married in October which is the warmest and driest time of year where we live.

I've read that rain is good luck, but my guests and I potentially getting drenched doesn't sound fun Smiley laugh

I've been tracking the weather on our day for 3 years now lol. Every other year it rains, either all day or part of the day. If the pattern continues it should be a great day for an outdoor ceremony on our wedding. We do have a back up plan just in case but I really want those beautiful outdoor pictures.

Our ceremony and reception are outdoors. I SO hope it does not rain. My wedding is next Saturday and I'm scared to even look at the forecast. My bridesmaid is tracking for me lol. I have until Wednesday to order sidewalls and a larger tent if need be. But I really, really hope we have nice weather! I want those beautiful outdoor photos.

I’ve always heard that rain on your wedding day is good luck, but I have always had my heart set on an outdoor ceremony. I wouldn’t mind a little rain after we made it into the reception venue!

Daughter had a winter wedding in So Cal, which has been in a drought virtually forever, but she made a point of choosing a venue with a great "plan B" in case rain threatened their January outside ceremony & cocktail hour plans. It turned out the drought ended this winter with a crazy amount of rain. It POURED from Sunday through Thursday evening the week of the wedding (it literally finally stopped midway through the rehearsal and the coordinator had us do a second walk through outside, after doing the first one inside). It was sunny and beautiful on Friday, and Saturday, for the wedding, it was 78 degrees on the patio at ceremony time and a little "warmish"! Daughter and SIL had absolutely PERFECT weather for their wedding, but it was a complete crap shoot going in. (It then rained for the next 4-6 Saturdays....) My only suggestion to any bride planning any part of the wedding outside, be sure you have a good plan B so you're not stressing about your wedding being rained out or guests passing out from too much heat. Smiley heart

Our wedding was in N CA with a chance of rain in spring. So we chose our venue because it also had great outdoor covered options. The week before our wedding: SUN. The week after: SUN. Our wedding day & entire mini-moon: RAIN. 🌧 😝 But we braved first look photos & the lighting was spectacular! Our back-up spot was even better. Rain added a truly magical look & feel. We loved it!

I'm getting married in 10 days and so far there is a 40% of rain. I was planning on taking most of my pictures outdoors so if it does rain, I honestly don't know what I will do. I am also terrified of getting my dress wet/dirty before the ceremony.

I'm getting married during monsoon season! It has rained on our anniversary before and that's the day were getting married. I'm kind of expecting it. We are having the ceremony during the part of the day it's least likey to rain according to weather records. If it rains, it rains cest la vie. We have a pretty laid back crowd and shelter if it happens.

To be frank rain makes the logistics of the day more challenging and sure I would prefer not to deal with the rain while in my dress, etc. BUT as long as the day ends with me married to my FH I am open to whatever "reasonable" weather comes that day. I will see it as a beautiful day no matter what.

The last few weddings I went to with my fiance (before we got engaged), they were all outdoor and had rain. I saw a looot of brides having breakdowns and unfortunately it kinda traumatized me from the idea of anything outdoor. Sadly, I know what kind of bride I am
..... So I am not worried about rain at this point, because everything is in one location and indoors! Phew!

Not nervous at all. We are having an indoor ceremony but all photos will be done outside, rain or shine. My family have had several family reunions and camping trips in the rain. It's just water, you'll dry off.

I was soooo nervous before but the forecast was supposed to be clear all day. We had about 10 minutes minor rain when we were taking couple’s pictures after the ceremony. No big deal really but it was not supposed to happen.

My ceremony and reception were inside so it wasn't a big deal. I have heard that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck. It rained on my wedding and so far so good.

All week leading up to our wedding it said it was going to rain all day on our wedding day... I am sooo glad that I didn't let that stress me out! Luckily for us anyway, we planned to have an indoor ceremony and reception (I actually originally wanted outdoors, but realized that would've caused me to stress about the weather too much lol) but I was still really hoping it wouldn't rain all day because I wanted outdoor photos. Well, like I said, luckily we didn't stress, because it was an absolutely GORGEOUS day... partly cloudy and mid-70s all afternoon! During the very last photo, right before our photographers left, I felt a few drops of rain on my arm. It could not have been timed more perfectly! Though honestly I think rainy wedding photos are really cool and artsy, so... while I am glad it held up for us, I really think we would've made the best of it either way!

I know they say its good luck on your wedding day but I HATE the rain.. i do have a plan B inside my Venue but i want an outside ceremony in the beautiful daylight... but motber nature is mother nature and where i live it can be sunny one min and rain in an instant and snow another when that time of year lol ....but i am so hoping that my mother in heaven will try to help me out with the weather the day of bc i hate the rain i dont want my dress getting ruined or my hair and makeup i am paying enough for it all i dont wsnt it ruined that quick. I will prob have a melt down if it rains to be honest.. but there is an inside area that is beautiful to just getting from point a to loint b without getting my dress etc ruined is the big issue ...good luck to all

It poured raining ALL DAY on our wedding day, the wind was terrible while getting ready like tornado type winds, and the rain slowed while our guests were arriving. The worst part was we didn't get to take any outside pictures, but that's as bad as it got.

We're gonna call it good luck lol

I'm worried! I wanted an outside wedding but the venue has inside space incase. We can't control the weather so we'll just have to go along with it

I heard that rain is a good thing on your wedding day, however a bride should have a second plan in case it does rain on her special day.
