Rain on your wedding day

Laura, on February 7, 2018 at 11:15 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

Everyone hopes for perfect weather on their wedding day, but unfortunately that doesn't always work out. If it rains on your wedding day will you stay inside and stay dry or go play in the rain for some beautiful pictures?

We are having wedding at a gazebo, but if it is going to rain that day we have it where we can actually just get married inside the barn that we are having reception at. We could of actually booked rain protection for extra. As far as photos I think it would be cute to have a few photos in the rain (but then you are soaked) find some that are like the one with umbrella etc.

Lol that Alanis Morissette song popped in my head when I read this.

But our venue has contingencies if it does rain. Most of the outdoor area is covered and the whole thing can be completely indoors if it needs to be. As cool as those pictures look, I'm not getting wet. I don't like even like being outside in a sprinkle lol. Only thing I'd do is the umbrella one.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm having mine at a gazebo with the option to go inside the reception lodge if it rains, but I don't know how I would recreate the aisle/chairs/decor/arch inside. I've become so paranoid over this that I can recite exactly the amount of rain my venue received on my date in the last five years lol

I got a clear umbrella in case it rains. If it's at all possible I want to get pictures outside of our venue.

I will keep our guest out of the rain but probably get some good rain photos after the ceremony.

Play in the rain for sure! We're from Oregon and not afriad of the rain Smiley winking Our venue has a large white tent to set up if it does rain so we don't have to move any festivities!

IF its at the end of the reception,...then I'll jump out and get some pictures....but I don't want to be wearing a heavy soggy wet dress and be freezing all of the night either

The week or two before when we met with our photog she had some suggestions in case it rained (umbrella, cute rain boots). Unfortunately day of the wedding it was pouring down, windy sideways rain (and freezing). We scrapped our plans for outside pics at a local nature center. Instead our photog was able to find a little porch off the venue that provided cover so we had some outside pics.

If it rains and it is not hard stormy rain, I plan to get a couple pictures on the deck of manor where pictures are being taken.

My wedding is indoors, but I think if it rains I'm going to go outside and try to get some really cool pictures.

My venue has an overhang in the front, but there's giant arches in it with lights. I think we could get some pretty awesome pictures while still staying dry if it rains!

I actually heard it's good luck for it to rain on a wedding day- the saying goes a wet knot is harder to untie Smiley winking

It all depends on how much rain! If it's a total downpour then no, we will do our pictures inside and re-schedule out outdoor photographs. If it's just a drizzle then we'll do some cute rain pictures.

I am PRAYING for rain on my wedding day. Our ceremony is outside, along with our cocktail hour (which is more lawn games and beers than cocktail hour) and our reception is indoors. My plan is to stay outside in the rain and marry this man, I would LOVE to stand in the rain and say my "I DO's". We are getting married in November, which in CA makes rain a possibility. Pray for rain for me ladies!

If it rains, our venue has an indoor space that they can set up for us. After all that though, we would definitely be running out into the rain for some fun and pictures!
