Rain on your wedding day

Brittany, on November 9, 2020 at 8:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
6 days away and rain is forecasted for our day!! I wouldn't care too much, but for pictures, it would be beautiful to do them outside. I don't see that happening though. Plus my hair is wild, the humidity is going to be up. I pray it changes at least a gap somewhere so we can take pics!

Anyone have rain on their wedding day and wanted to do pictures outside? What did you do instead?

I got married in Florida and there was a huge thunderstorm for a few hours. It was touch and go as to whether we were going to be able to have the ceremony outside, much less photos.

But God smiled on us and the rain lifted in time to do bridal party pics outside, and my ceremony got to be outside, too. We did have to do our first look inside, but I was fine with that. The pictures were SO cool and we wouldn't have taken photos in that spot at all had it not been raining.

Have a great, creative photographer like we did and they'll come up with great photo spots, inside or out!

I got married in Hawaii during the “winter” there. It rained before our ceremony, but then it cleared up so we went ahead. Then as we were saying our vows it rained again. Thankfully it wasn’t pouring, but it was still distracting. Our officiant went to get umbrellas in his car while we said our vows. Right when I finished mine it cleared up and didn’t rain again that day Smiley smile

Yup! ☔️ It only drizzled though during first look so we did them anyway. The lighting was spectacular. No squinty eyes. And we took a few umbrella photos.

It poured all morning the day of my wedding and continued to be overcast and humid until the ceremony. My photographers were able to get photos of us outside because there was a patio type area where we weren’t standing in the mud. We did have to move my cocktail hour inside, but for the ceremony we proceeded outside. It was still overcast but right as the ceremony started the rain stopped and the sun pushed through and we have the most beautiful sunset right behind us in our photos. Just trust!! Rain is good luck on your big day!! It will work out. I was so upset all day about the rain and for nothing! I know it will work out for you too ❤️

We had rain forecasted for the entire day of our minimony and I was so irritated by people telling me it was good luck. It rained all morning, by the afternoon it stopped by some miracle. My dress got muddy walking down, but my photographer was able to edit most of it out. We got through the ceremony and halfway through our photos before it started again. I think umbrella photos turn out really pretty! It will work out fine!
