raining on my wedding day

Ashleigh, on April 7, 2021 at 9:26 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 20

I am so nervous about the weather forecast predicted for my wedding day! 90% chance of rain on Saturday... I have an outside ceremony and an outside reception..

Any advice? I have been upset to say the least for the last few days, and while I know I am still going to be married, this is not how I envisioned my dream day...

Thanks

I assume you have a backup plan in case of rain? Sorry your day may not be exactly what you pictured!

Are there any tent rental companies near you? If so, I would look into reserving a few tents to help keep everyone dry! Otherwise, does your venue have an indoor option?

Like Lisa mentioned, if you haven't secured a backup plan and a text rental, I'd try to do so asap! I'd also ask if your venue has an indoor option!

Do you have a backup plan (indoor option at your venue)? It also rained at my wedding, so our ceremony which was supposed to be outside on our venue's patio had to be moved indoors at the last minute. I'd also recommend having some very large bubble umbrellas on hand for the day!

First off you need to make sure you have a back up plan! Rain is actually the last thing that I’m worried about! Think about how romantic it would be to have it raining and a bunch of candles lit all over the tables! I think rain is so romantic!

I agree with everyone you should have a backup plan in place just incase. We are having an outdoor wedding as well and the second thing we planned with our wedding was a back up plan for rain.

Luckily weather forecasts are notoriously unreliable, so there's still time to have a rain-free day! If it does rain; like everybody else has asked/mentioned, is there a plan B? Tents, pretty umbrellas, inside, all of it will still be pretty!

Check with your venue about what kind of backup plan they have. This can't be the first time they have encountered this development.

You may have to rent some tents or canopies, but they should be able to help you navigate this situation.

Either way, you're getting married!!!! Congratulations!

They say rain is a sign of good luck for marriage! Just have a backup plan or a rental to have outside to be under just in case

I agree with what everyone is saying about the back up plan. I will say I had plans for my daughters 14th bday party this past March. It had a 90% of rain and we live in FL so you know that’s legit. I was so upset because her party was completely outdoors with a projector screen and all. We realized the week of that it would rain so we did have a back up prepared. Girl not a single drop fell that day! Just keep calm. Definitely get a back up in order and get those big clear bubble umbrellas because they are gorgeous! I saw a wedding shoot with them and it was stunning. Also, there’s no shame in fervently praying for a rain free wedding and who knows you might be surprised! I sure was. In the end, it will be special even if it does rain! I’ve been married almost 10 years and if anything that’s a testimony to how marriage can be! You learn to navigate the “problems” and enjoy each other through those storms Smiley smile Blessings and best wishes being sent your way!

Put a backup plan in place and then don’t stress, you can’t control the weather! There was rain the the forecast on our day when the 10-day forecast went up and as wedding day got closer the percent went up and up til it got to 100%. Once I accepted it was going to rain I was fine. It poured all morning and cleared up just before the ceremony.
Remember umbrellas and use your bridal party to help pick up your dress when going out to get Into a car/change venues. Bring flip flops for the same reason so as to not get your nice shoes wet.

Ah no! Like others said, the weather forecast is almost always somewhat unreliable, so hopefully the rain will hold off! Worst case, I would definitely look into a couple of tents if your venue doesn't offer any indoor space. The first thing I thought of reading this is how breathtaking a transparent event tent would be. You could use something like this and doll it up to match the elegance of your wedding.

Side note: rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, so if worst comes to worst, your marriage is off to a great start!

Unfortunately, weather will always be a concern for outdoor events. But if it rains, just go with the Plan B that you came up with.

    Yikes!

Most vendors have accommodations to have the wedding inside in the event of inclement weather... idk if this helps
Good luckI’m sure it will be amazing

I woke up the morning before my wedding to snowflakes..In April! I was so nervous it was going to rain or snow on my wedding day but it didn't. It was windy as hell though lol Forecasts change constantly so fingers crossed it changes for you but I would try to come up with a last minute backup plan just in case! Good luck!
