Rainy Day Wedding Photography

Analie, on March 8, 2020 at 2:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I am fine with it raining on my wedding day but I am nervous about how to take photos. I am getting married in a church but I would like to hear a few suggestions on alternate things to do in case of the rain on the wedding day.

I would definitely have a rain site just in case but talk to your photographer. I'm from Florida and even though I'm getting married in November. Still right outside of the hurricane season and honestly it can rain anytime in Florida and one of the biggest things that made me choose a photographer would that they knew how to handle rain. See if your photographer has a back-up plan in regards to pictures as they should.

Make sure you have a nice indoor place for photos, but I also think couples photos outdoors in the rain can look really cool and unique! I’d buy a clear umbrella! We had one just in case of rain Smiley smile

And clear umbrellas-golf one would work. That’s my backup as well.

So I don’t know if this will help but my engagement photos it was raining and the photos outside looked amazing! It gave off a really nice glow. If it pours that’s another story.

Does your photographer know the area? Maybe they can recommend a few outdoor but covered options nearby.

It RAINED on our wedding day but only lightly drizzled during first look photos. I’m so glad we braved the outdoor photos because the lighting was spectacular and no squinty-eyed photos!

We are planning photos at the church (backup is inside only pics, prefer indoor and out), local fountain (engagement spot) and first date locations (ice cream place - better outdoor, bar - better indoor), and our reception venue (only outdoor necessity would be sundown shots). Our backup plan will be our city train station - beautiful but less meaningful.

First of all im not even really sure exactly where we will take pics. And especially dont know any place to take pics thats indoors. I have no clue lol nd I kind of dont want to think about rain. Weather has been soo warm until last week and raining the last 2 days. But I still have 3 weeks left

I’m nervous too but I’ll be doing my own makeup so I’ll stand outside and if I have to redo it or touch up. I’ll be able to.

Pp just gave me an idea of the train station if we have no choice. But I will check the weather and will buy see thru umbrellas if needed. I had the idea of taking pics outside of our towns city hall. Theres a waterfall and the building is kinda nice outside (big columns in front). Lol ur post is forcing me to think about it now.

Haha I know, I live in an area where it is basically just trees and open land. There isn't any man made structures to stay around.

Rain can make for great atmosphere in photos. It might be smart to order a couple cute umbrellas (like maybe those clear ones) to have on hand just in case. Maybe some cute rubber boots too! If you've hired a professional photographer for your wedding they will know how to deal with rain and still get the best shots possible.

I have a park that is right next to my church so if need be, we will take pictures in the parking lot.
