Raise your beverage for me today please.

I had my bachelorette party this weekend and it was as lot of fun, however I did get some unsettling news.

My MOH and one of my BM's are going to Turkey (yes Istanbul Turkey) and returning the DAY BEFORE REHERSAL. They told me about this as they were bringing me ALL OF THEIR WEDDING GEAR to bring down to the wedding with me as they will not be home between Turkey and wedding.

I was speechless. When I discussed my multiple concerns with them they shrugged it off and and said it was no different than if they were going to California for the week.

I'll say this, I spoke my truth, they spoke theirs and if they miss the wedding due to Covid issues it is on their minds not mine at this point. Yes I am hurt they would show such little care or concern. They did not even discuss this with me, they are traveling internationally during a pandemic and think nothing of it. I just had to vent. Thanks' yall.

Oh well, it's on them. We cannot live our life in complete fear but yes, they should have been more communicative towards you and gone at a different time.

That's all I would have asked for honestly. Just for them to come and talk to me first, I have no issues with them going but I would have preferred they come back that Tuesday or even Wednesday to give themselves a day to recharge and to build in time for travel issues.

Wow, I'd be really upset too. The way/time in which they told you was much less than ideal. I'm guessing this was a last minute trip? Or hoping at least, that's why they planned for the day that they did. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable having someone attend my wedding who had just gotten back from international travel and this would be a deal breaker for me. It doesn't sound like that's the case for you, but worth considering if it would be less stress without them.

I’m sorry but I would have to ask them to not attend my wedding. That is putting a lot of people at risk. International travel is different than a trip to CA.

I’d feel the same way. At least a few days before so they could get cleared from COVID.

I would be a little more than annoyed. That shows a complete lack of respect for you and all your other guests. So many places have a strict 14 days quarantine after travel. I would personally excuse them from my wedding.

International travel, which is risky just in terms of delays and jet lag, during a pandemic?

I'd tell them they were no longer invited, for my guests' safety.

Even if it weren't the pandemic, I'd be annoyed because of the possibility of getting delayed!

(We had guests that came directly from an international trip - but this was pre-COVID, and they were not in the wedding party.)

Can they get a rapid test before the wedding?

I will ask them to have a Rapid test done for sure, I'm just not sure if they have them in Charlotte NC as that is where they will be flying back to from overseas. North Carolina just updated their covid restrictions anyway and I am waiting to hear back from our venue if we are allowed to have the original amount (30 % of room fire capacity) or if we can only have 25 present. If we can only have 25 present than only my MOH would still be attending out of the two of them, she could most definitely find a Rapid test. As sad as this is about to sound, I am actually hoping we can only have 25 at this point as the whole thing would be paid off and all of our vendors would actually owe us money. Plus, I enjoy intimate weddings and wanted on to begin with, my FH was the one who wanted a big 150 person affair.

I'm so sorry, you should not have to deal with this on top of everything else. It's super insensitive of them and completely disregards you or any of your high-risk guests.

Keep in mind, even if they are able to get a rapid test, they are only 30-40% accurate.
