Random but does it sound like he may propose

Vanessa, on December 8, 2019 at 9:23 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 24
For the last month or so he keeps making jokes about getting married. Says things about deals on rings, points out ring stores, etc

Most recently made a lot of jokes about getting me a ring for Christmas and jokes about how he needs to go to these ring stores to get my present. Said he had a secret present for me and it was a real knee jerker.
Crazy a year ago he was def more freaked out by marriage kinda
We’ve been together for 2 years. We have a son Togetherand I have a daughter from previous relationship

Thats what my FH did before he popped the question. He kept making jokes for a few months and then suddenly stopped for about a month, and then he proposed!! Good luck!

My fiance was the same way. Didn't even wanna talk marriage. Then last year started talking about it more and making jokes. Then a few months later he proposed.

Sounds like your boyfriend may be dropping some feelers out there to see your reaction.

My husband joked about proposing at a baseball game on the big screen. He ended up proposing 5 days later. Obviously, we don't know your boyfriend to know what he is really thinking, but it is definitely possible. The holidays are a popular time to get engaged, but try not to be disappointed if he doesn't pop the question.

Just be careful and patient. My husband proposed a year after he started talking about it and I went through a lot of emotional turmoil waiting and not knowing. I’ve also had two friends whose boyfriends told them they bought a ring and it was just a flat out lie. One friend got engaged and married later and the other broke up. Good luck and enjoy this special time in your relationship. Hopefully it’ll happen soon!

Def thinking he's feeling it out? We had a convo about the future and I made a tiny joke and he was like hey why are you joking when I'm talking about a future together.

Not reallly pressed about it. It’ll happen if it happens

It’s possible but just remain patient and calm. Don’t want to read into things and get disappointed if it doesn’t happen.

I am fine being patient. Plus we financially aren’t set right now so I could see him waiting.

Another site was really rude! They said he’s dangling this in front of me and I should leave him if he doesn’t?
We talk about a future together, we had a rough year and things have gotten better. I don’t feel the need to rush.

If you're talking about the WeddingBee, they tend to believe the worst in....everything. I posted for advice about my engagement ring, and they all told me Zales was bad and to get a custom ring made for me. They also tend to immediately jump to the worst conclusions, which is why I glad i found this place for my wedding advice.

You sound like you're in a good headspace! He might propose - it sounds like he's feeling it out. My FH was a total blunder when it came to proposing because he got so nervous, but I already knew it was coming. We had had many talks and picked out the ring together. Enjoy this time! You only get to enjoy the pre engagement buzz once. It caused me a lot of anxiety, but hopefully for you you can enjoy the magic and romance of it!

I should note, a lot of my anxiety was caused by the WeddingBee. He didn't immediately propose after we got the ring, so I started majorly second guessing myself. Just breathe and trust your guy! And enjoy the magic if he does.

Exactly! Thanks I’m not gonna listen to them.

It is fun to think about 🥰. And i think it’ll happen just a matter of when.
I think mine may be nervous, like I think him even thinking about it is cute. He’s never been close to marrying someone. I’m def not expecting it Christmas but maybe sometime within the near future!

Well sounds like he is seriously thinking about putting a ring on it! Congrats to that! And bigger when he does!

Don’t get upset, if for some reason, he Doesn’t propose this time around. He will. I promise!

My FH, who I love with all my heart, decided to sneak the ring in by wearing his hoodie....in September. In Texas. It was 90 degrees outside, and I knew because I asked him why he was wearing his hoodie and he got all nervous. Then he basically talked about everything and nothing all dinner, so nervous he could barely look at me without getting flustered. It was so cute.

Yes, enjoy this time! You're in the right mindset. It's fun to think about when and where, and what the ring will look like. I picked my ring, and my anxiety kind of dictated the place...but it was still very us. Congrats!

As PPs mentioned, it sounds like you're in a really good headpsace about this.

A proposal can make even the toughest, seemingly least-emotional people nervous, even if they're 110% confident in the answer. Joking about it is a way to feel you out, whether he's actually ready now or not.

My FH started talking about marriage shortly after we began dating (not that he was going to propose, but in the way that we both were on the same page about what we were looking for). I told him that he had to wait at least 2 years before proposing (weird quirk of mine that he went along with). We went on a vacation a little after the 2-year mark, and when we got back, he spent the next year designing the engagement ring -- unbeknownst to me at the time.

By the time he proposed, we had talked about it at length and I even knew he bought the ring. He was STILL incredibly nervous before and during the proposal, and it was super cute.

Let us know what happens! Smiley smile

You can get yourself sized at Kohl's! Just take it with a grain of salt because weather and the sizer can make it just a little off.
