Random envelope inside wedding invite ?

A.L.S., on March 5, 2017 at 10:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 17

I received a wedding invitation with a smaller envelope inside . There is no rsvp card they are asking us to call to rsvp and all the envelope says is " we look forward to seeing you at our wedding".

Probably an oversight then if they want a call and had not included the RSVP return card.

I know, I wish we knew other people invited so we could ask them if they also received envelopes .

I read a post in a Facebook wedding group and the bride said she included a blank envelope in every invitation from cash (so guests could bring the cash anonymously to the reception). Not sure this is what you received but I couldn't believe the bride was doing that.

I'd straight up just ask what the envelope was for when calling to rsvp. If one of you is close enough to be invited to the wedding, you should be close enough to ask the couple that.

@ Bee honestly my FH knows the groom , but has not hung out with him since he started dating his now fiancé . We're not sure if we're attending or not, but FH is going to ask someone he thinks may have been invited if they got a envelope

We asked for RSVP's via our website or by phone. We listed both his and my phone numbers so guests that might one to contact one or the other had the option. ^_^

This sounds like a cash grab to me also.

The invitations probably came with rsvp cards initially even though they put on the invite call to rsvp. Maybe they just threw the rsvp's away and forgot to take out the envelopes.
