Random invitation insert?

M2H, on May 2, 2013 at 12:35 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

So i've designed my DIY invitations and the reply cards and all that but i really didn't want everything to be too cluttered. So i'm thinking of making a little extra insert the size of a business card or something with extra info. Both our families (especially mine) are not used to a traditional, nice wedding we will be having so i'm pretty sure they will be clueless for some stuff. The only inserts i currently have are the RSVP card and directions. in a pocketfold and of course the attached main invite.

I wanted to include info for example, RSVP capability on our website & website info(this can also direct them to the site for FAQ), initials next to each entree selection. Something else maybe but i can't remember what it was.

I just want to emphasize things and make it more likely to be done right and easy on me, while still keeping my invites sleek, elegant and not so wordy.

Would it be too much info, confusing, unnecessary?

I did that with business cards. I said please see our website for directions and hotel information and then I listed the website.

We had an insert that gave the reception information, hotel block info and wedding website.

Since you have a directions insert, I would just do another insert one size smaller so when you stick them in they all line up nicely.

I'm including a business card sized insert that says "For more wedding related details and dates and for registry information, please visit our website at www.blahblahblah...."

I had pocket folders as well...my card had our website on it...I don't have it here but I think it said something like

"You can find much more detailed information on our website at .... including specific parking availability, bride and groom stories and much more."

I think I had a few points on there, but it was definitely an insert to mention the website since there are far more details on there...

Awesome ladies thanks. I was wondering if it would be too much info but i'm glad to know i'm not the only one and you've given me some ideas for how to word it Smiley smile

Nah not the only one. We did the same. Printed out at home on some nice cardstock, I just made a simple small square card that listed accommodations, phone numbers, dates for room RSVPs and other details not included on the invite.

Yeah i was planning to do it on cardstock too. I originally thought of getting those free vistaprint cards but i'll do that as a last resort. I think i'm going to add like dress attire stuff and the website for additional venue details like parking. I'm sure our family will need as much info as they can get.

I'm adding an insert with accommodation information and a reminder to visit the website for more info. There's nothing wrong with that!

I made inserts as well! They say something along the lines of "for information on accomodations, directions, etc. please see our wedding website"
