Random table? Seating chart help

Katy, on October 13, 2021 at 10:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
I have just finalized rsvps and have completed the seating chart. I have a bit of a dilemma because the tables seat eight and my seating chart is perfect except for one random table of 4. Is it rude to just leave it as a table of 4? It is the mother and stepfather of one of my bridesmaids and the FH’s rather estranged grandmother and her sister. These two sets of people will not know each other, but I don’t know who else I would put there. Theoretically I could move another couple and make it two tables of 6, but the other groups are solid and it would be just a random thing to do. I imagine that after dinner people will be up and moving around so maybe it won’t matter much. I just have no one else to put there. Help!

I don't see a problem with it, I would leave it as is!

I would leave as is. You want to seat people with others they know/like, so if this table is the only one who doesn't really know anyone/can't get along with others then it's totally fine to just have that table of 4 to allow for everyone else to sit with people they know and like/you think they'd enjoy.

I once went to a wedding and we were sat at a table of 4 plus one kid. It's not rude and they will just talk with the person they came with.

Have it be the table the vendors could sit at to eat

I would leave it. If you have the rest of the seating chart figured out, I wouldn't stress about moving people around.

Yes leave it!! I had this exact same issue but it worked out perfectly fine! I think your guests would prefer less people at a table than an awkward social situation.
