Re-using bridesmaids bouquets? Pics and advice, please!

Jamie, on July 22, 2012 at 2:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

Has anyone re-used their bridesmaids bouquets as decor during the reception? I'd love to hear your ideas and see pictures, please!

I've heard that some people display the bouquets in vases at the head table. We're having a regular round 10-person table for our bridal party, so I'm wondering if this would still work (there would be four bouquets, not counting mine). The table might start to look cluttered, right?

Where else could we put the bouquets where they'd be visible and decorative? The guest book table and escort table will only be part of the cocktail hour (when bridal party will be taking pictures), so I wouldn't be able to display to bouquets there.

Thanks for the advice ladies!

A friend of mine used her and her MOH's bouquets as centerpieces in two different tables, rather than all at one table.

On the cake table or gift table.

You can stick them in vases and use them on the cake table or the head table.

Cate is putting her bouquets on her sweet heart table, without vases. She didn't want the vases to block the view of them for pictures, So, they will lay sideways. In between each bouquet, there will be blinged out votives she made.

Her inspiration is the first picture. The venue provides one centerpiece. Her bouquet and BM bouquets will go around the table like the second picture. However, there will be blinged out votives between the bouquets. There will also be a moss "F" hanging down the front of the table.

We are lookikng into purchasing real touch and are going to use them as centerpieces on the sweetheart table. Afterwards, we are going to donate them to our church.

I bought bouquet holders at Michaels. Here's a pic. You just set the bouquet in it and viola! instant table decoration! Also put in a pic of what it would look like to just set it in a glass cylinder.

I saw this really cool thing on SMP ... they were on Rachel Ray and they had this awesome idea of using the BM bouquets as the centerpieces...however, the centerpieces were a large group of carnations and then you just dropped the pretty bouquet right in the middle! Loved the idea!! Smiley smile

We used my bouquet at our sweetheart table and the BM's bouquets were used throughout the venue. I think it's a great idea to add them into your decorations

This is what Abby from SMP said: Bridesmaid bouquet centerpieces: Cut costs on centerpieces by using the bridesmaids' bouquets in the arrangements. Use a big batch of brightly colored carnations on the table and leave a place in the middle to insert a bouquet. "You can spend a little bit more on the bouquet but save on the greater whole!"

You can kind of see the arrangement I'm talking about above here in this picture to the right.

Reenski, Jenelle, and Happilyengaged~ I like these ideas. Maybe I'll use 2 bridesmaid's bouquets as centerpieces and put the other two on the cake table and dessert table.

Carole~ Cate's inspiration photos are gorgeous. Her sweetheart table will look so pretty. And I like the blingy votives -- a great touch!

MyLoveandHisMrs ~ Donating them to the church afterwards is such a nice gesture!

Linda~ I had no idea Michael's made these bouquet holders. They're so pretty! I'll have to look for them. I'd just need to find a way to keep my flowers hydrated. We're having roses and hydrangeas. The roses might look okay without water, but the hydrangeas would wilt!

Cydney~ This link from SMP is so creative. Thanks for sending the ideas -- I like the idea of incorporating the BM bouquets into a larger centerpiece!

I am not very crafty myself, so I ordered our silk flowers from ebay. They are coming with some type of holders I think are like what Linda R. showed and they will be used as centerpieces for the head table. If it looks too cluttered, then we may put them by the cake or the gust book. During the reception, my girls will have wrist corsages on. We had our package customized so I am waiting for them to be made, but when they arrive I can post pictures.
