Real Touch Flowers

Ashley, on January 16, 2018 at 6:53 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

Hey All - has anyone made their own bouquets, centerpieces etc with real touch flowers? I have never seen them in person and want to be able to by in bulk to make my own to save on florist costs if possible! If anyone has used them and happens to know where to get them cheap that would be amazing! Or if you have seen them in person to tell me yes or no on using them thats awesome too! Don't want it to look super fake.

You should check Michael's or Joann's. They usually offer coupons/sales if you watch the ads and you will be able to see the flowers in person before deciding.

I haven't used them (I'm doing sola wood flowers instead) but, I have heard from others that real touch silk can be just as expensive as real flowers. Price it out and get some quotes from florists too so you can compare.

My coworkers daughter did this for her wedding, you coyldnt tell unless you were close enough that these flowers were not real. I like this idea as you can get the look yuo want without the hefty price tag. I'm going to use these on my archway, but I'm making the bouquets from French beaded flowers.

I just saw them at Hobby Lobby yesterday and they do look really nice. However, there were SUPER pricey. Some of them were $17 a stem. They are also half off at Hobby Lobby right now.

I looooooove the real touch flowers! I work with them whenever I can for floral arrangements, wreaths, and hat-making. They can get a little expensive, but are quite worth it in the long run given their durability and longevity, and since they hold together so well they're good for reusing in other crafts after the wedding (or selling on used wedding sites to make back some of your cash!!). And really, unless people are really looking, they're pretty hard to pick out from the real flowers, especially in photos. Amazon has some good deals, but the ones to look out for are the sales at Hobby Lobby and Michael's. If you shop at Michael's, a lot of the time you'll run into a 40% coupon good for the following week, and you can apply those to flowers. I live and die by those coupons. Check the website or the app frequently and you'll see some excellent sales and coupons that will save you money on your florals. Same goes for Hobby Lobby! While they don't give out coupons quite as often, if you check their site regularly they have some decent sales and in the floral department, the sales alternate every week or two. So it'll be 20-40% off this kind of flower one week, and another type the next. Just keep checking. It's worth the effort, I promise. Smiley heart

Great idea! I used solawoodflowers.com to get mine. Unfortunately, you just missed the sale (it ended last night) but, I think you can sign up for emails and they will send you discount offers.

Hi! I have not used 'real touch' flowers however I am making my own bouquets and centerpieces using Sola wood flowers.

they are a super soft flexible wood made from a tapioca plant. I ordered them in bulk from a website called 'save on crafts' and I am doing 13 bouquets for less than $200.

The flowers are stemless but there is an easy way to add stems- take a floral wire and put it through a button so each half of the wire is hanging down and the button is right in the middle. Glue the button to the bottom of the flower. and then once you have all of the flowers together in the bundle, you can bend the wire to make the flowers sit how you want and I am wrapping the floral wire in ribbon to match the flowers/dresses.

They can be done very cheaply! and look amazing!

plus- they will never die, you don't have to worry about the heat and after the wedding I will put mine in a shadowbox with a copy of the invitation.

I made my bouquet and centerpieces from the silk flowers at hobby lobby, Michael's or other craft stores and I think it looks great. I like the idea of being able to through the bouquet and the one who catches it being able to save it and look at it for ears to come. Hobby Lobby has 50% off sales all the time and you can get them for cheap.
